You're missing the point. In the modern world, she was a child actress who had good roles but when she became an adult and tried to transition into adult roles, she hit a wall. She didn't have fans or popularity. The fans don't care about quality work or acting, they just follow the actors they like based on their appearance. It's satire, criticizing the entertainment industry in China. That's why FL got discouraged and doesn't want to work and is so happy she landed as a wealthy noble daughter in the script.
