The issue is how the narrative is written. It needs to be supported by evidence or foreshadowing. We are told the FL came back to find family and a home but in truth there's nothing for her in this manor and she keeps trying to carve out a place. If anything it only fits the profile of an abused child which she is.

12 but it doesn't matter because the show is pushing this angle since FL returned. It feels like the scriptwriter is trying to create a mother/daughter bond that doesn't exist.

I don't understand why FL thinks her mom is some weak, defenseless woman. Nothing indicates it in the plot so far and it's been proven that she managed to hold on to her position as lady of the manor for nearly 20 years. This woman is neither stupid nor weak.

Cinematography director deserves kudos. This drama looks beautiful. Every scene perfectly lit and framed, even the normal ones.

I don't see any similarities to be honest. The Glory has been changed so much that it hardly resembles its source novel.

You're missing the point. A woman has no value in a brothel because every man uses her. Here she's offering herself to one man and he was testing her to entrust his family to her so yes they were both daring each other to take the next outlandish move.

I'm not blaming a man. I'm judging his character according to what was considered a gentleman of that time.
