Our ex-young madame is definitely cruel to others but you have to admit she treats those she cares about well as evidenced by her maid and her so called "man". I'm afraid her family will throw her out from what I have seen from the trailer where she asks the FL when will women be able to do the things that men can do.

Ah man I think I felt it from the moment I saw him question why 600 tales went to her maid and the fact that she is allowing him to be in charge of their money. I was like this is gonna end badly. I also questioned, is he with her cause he loves her or is he taking advantage of her? She seems to have a tendency to protect those whom she loves, I'm referring to her maid. The way she begged and stood up for for her took me for a surprise cause I was used to seeing her treat maids badly so it seems she is sincere to those she cares about and so I'm also gonna feel sorry for her if she gets betrayed.

Have you ever watched Blossoms in Adversity? Cause the same thing befalls the FL's family, however, in their case, the men are exiled. The FL is also betrothed and one day the matriarch of betrothed family came to cancel the marriage but when she saw what kind of circumstances they were in, she realized maybe if I do this now, that would be like putting salt on someone's wound. Even if she cancelled the marriage there would be nothing wrong but it's a question of character. She felt for them and the FL's grandmother also told her later on that, I will always remember your kindness and how you treated us when you came that day. And when their family also fell upon the wrath of the Emperor, the FL helped them. In this case, I remember the ML asked his grandfather that should we "TIP" them, he never said, make plans for them, just to tip and the grandfather looked at him with an expression that said from now on we don't know those people. I mean, for them to set a betrothal for their grandkids they must have been good friends but he wouldn't even tip the FL's grandpa.

You're right it doesn't make you a bad person but how you go about doing it does. I'm still judging grandpa Lin. I know it wasn't his fault that both families fell into this situation. It could have been plotted by Zhao family as someone said that, it's a possibility. But I'm still judging grandpa for how he dealt with the situation, he was so cold to Shen family knowing what would befall them. He never put them in that situation but how he dealt with it says a lot about his character. So if the ML also deals with this situation in a cold manner, I'm judging him because for him, this wasn't betrayal, he knew from the beginning she never loved him. If it was betrayal then I would be saying something else.

I see your point but I think this is a question of character. Our young madame has bad character as she is cruel to others but that doesn't mean our ML should be the same. I feel like, if he is gonna be portrayed as this intelligent and accomplished ML then he should have plenty of ways. I personally would question is character if this is his move. Maybe bring her family to their knees and let the ultimatum be a divorce? She is doing all this fraudulent activity so that she can save money and elope cause she knows both families will not agree to a divorce. Think about when he showed his mom proof that she was a loan shark, the mother was angry yes, but her solution was let's keep this under wraps. So I think it's hard for both of them. Maybe he should have waited for her to elope? Like idk. I feel like it's a low move from someone who is gonna be portrayed as smart.

She cannot ask for a divorce. Think about how sudden this marriage came. Our ML was betrothed to our FL for many years then all of a sudden she is told by her family she has to marry him with immediate effect as it was a way to secure the Lin family's survival. Who knows what deals both grandfather's had, and they just pushed their grandchildren into it. She says to her maid Qingxiang, when she loses the Diamond Sutra that, if kneeling and begging could fix things I wouldn't be here. Meaning she wouldn't be married to the ML. So, her plan is to gather as much money as possible, even through theft and illicit loaning so that she can elope with her beloved.

I get you. When you see a woman with that amount of prowess and ambition, you think it's for bigger things. And it seems so unlike her as she comes across as extremely intelligent. We were told in the previous episode that her family doesn't allow women to read and her mother is illiterate so you would think she is the dark horse of the family and that this marriage squandered her ambitions that's why she's so angry and always planning a way out for herself. But I can understand it, sometimes love makes people have courage to do things that they wouldn't have. Maybe it's the fact that she wasn't given a chance to choose for herself that makes her so mad and bold.

As much as our young madame is cruel and unforgiving, when it comes to her "private affair" I sympathize with her. I understand that in the ancient times, marriage was arranged but thinking about how in this case it came all of a sudden due to the Emperor's rage on both families, the young madame suddenly got forced into a marriage, with immediate effect to save the Lin family and the Lin family, as far as my understanding, the Grandfather refused to tip the Shen family and chose to abandon them with immediate effect. So I think if our ML is truly angry then he should blame his grandfather or FATE rather, because the consequence of his grandad's action is that ,yes, Lin family is saved from the wrath of the Emperor but our ML ends up with a wife who doesn't love him. I don't know how the story will go, I haven't read the novel but I hope if he is looking for an excuse to divorce her, he doesn't go in this direction as the world was truly unforgiving to women and it's not her fault she doesn't love him. But seeing that there were witnesses, I think this is gonna get exposed. Maybe this will be her karma for treating other people badly but it certainly is a low move from the ML cause it's not like they swore to love each other under the moon and this is like the ultimate betrayal.

I absolutely agree with you. I chose to watch this drama because, I'm a huge Neo fan and I really wanted to see Aimi have her moment as a female lead BUT most importantly because I heard that in Rebirth for you they respected the fact that she was a minor when they filmed so they didn't do anything inappropriate, this is what I heard, I cannot confirm if it's true so I am hoping the same thing will happen here, I'm literally taking a chance. But I absolutely agree with you and share your sentiments, I hope it's not normalised, afterall, even if this is a drama, we the watchers are real people living in society and we would hope that minors are protected and not influenced by dramas, I mean the ones watching. Yes, 10 years to some is just a number but only at an age of maturity when the young woman or man is old enough to make responsible decisions for themselves.

I, too, just like you am enjoying the drama. However, I believe everyone on this platform has a right to express their opinion. And of course, their opinions will be influenced by their culture/background/experience etc. The truth is, she was 17/18 when they filmed this drama, on top of that, she really does have a baby face. Just like Rebirth for you, there are people who couldn't continue watching for that reason. Just like there will be people who will probably stop watching this drama due to the harem. Just like the repetitive sibling dramas that have been released, a lot of people defend them based on blood basis, as the leads are not blood related, whereas people like me, feel like, step siblings are siblings, adoptive siblings are also siblings so we don't approve.I think each to their own and they are allowed to be critical just like how you are allowed to defend this drama.

Enjoying the drama so far. Someone in the comments said this is Dou Zhao on steroids and I agree. Seems like quite a few of Blossoms cast is here. Some pointers to make, if Lady Gu, the soul that has possessed Lady Shen, has grown up in the capital and even married a prince then why did she not know about the crown prince's situation, about the fact that he was frail in health, it seemed as if the whole capital knew this but she didn't know. Also, I'm very curious as to why she doesn't choose her ex husband. I understand that it was unrequited love, as she didn't feel the same way, according to her ex, but this time she's not marrying for love so isn't someone who is familiar and who will be devoted to her be the best ally? But that's for when the story continues to develop, maybe I'll understand why. As for the male lead, he is holding it down. I was worried when I saw the posters for the drama cause he looks like her little brother. No offense but even as I watch the drama I still think he looks like her little brother and I know they are one year apart which is not a big deal but I'm struggling. Even their personalities seem different but they say opposites attract so, im curious to see how this cold blooded, as her ex says, calculative and mature woman will fall in love with him.

You are right. It was so out of character for him because he comes across as meticulous. Why he would be dense here, really made me mad.

I know He Jian Xi is innocent in all this, but, I really really wanna slap that guy 50 million times across the screen. Okay fine, it was chaotic when he gave him the notes and maybe he could not remember the name Zhang Hailou, BUT, he did hear his sea nickname and he repeated it, I was watching, i caught that. OKAY, let's say he couldn't hear that, isn't he an honest person? Why couldn't he tell Hailou that someone gave him money. I mean, since he is coming across all kinds of people, wouldn't explaining that provide more clues when they were in danger on the ship? Why wait to give it to the police? Just thinking about how, if he could have told Hailou that earlier on could have saved Haixia's life is making me livid 😭. I know he is a good person, but i can't help wanting to slap his head a bit.

Ahh thank goodness. I was getting the ick thinking they are gonna pair him with the daughter because if you think about it logically, it's her birth father that is inside the guy's body so if they make him fall in love with his own daughter in the process of being in another guy's body, mann that will give me ick and I'll stop watching. I just hope it's gonna go down a lane where he will see that she's the best person to inherit the company, and that's all.

I absolutely absolutely agree with you. And this is not a dab at the actress's acting ability because I have watched her before in Sleuth of Ming Dynasty and Perfect Match. It's just that, she has such a baby face that I just feel the relationship is inappropriate. I heard she was chosen because she played the younger version in the first Princess Agents. While we are happy for her getting the role I still feel a more mature looking female lead would have been appropriate. I also heard that there would be no intimate scenes given the fact that she was still a teen when they shot this, thank God for this but tbh, I just still can't get into it. I want to but I have yet to get past Episode 1 😭

It's no worries, I respect that. I can tell that we see things differently which is okay. 


The reason she didn't tell him who he was, was because at first, she herself was not sure if he had an agenda, to which he actually did, and then secondly, because after she did an investigation on him, she pitied him cause it first seemed like he was harmed by his fellow court officials and so she felt like he could be in danger.


I remember at first he hid that he recovered his memories but in the end they both acknowledged it and I remember he shared a story about his youth. So in my perspective it's like oh so we trust each other and are not gonna hide things from each other cause we having pillow talks now and they were literally having a pillow talk 😄.


But even though such things transpired between them,he did not come clean. I also get it, he couldn't come clean because he is a court official and has to accomplish his task and also because he literally fell in love so he is afraid of disappointing her as there was a risk of harming her family. But he did it anyway. He said, if it gets to where this case puts them on opposite sides, he is choosing  to be fair in court, even towards her.


We cannot deny that what he did was a noble act, but why is it that he can make such decisions that can potentially harm his significant other and he can hide things from her but he gets no heat for it. Is it because he loves loud, so it seems like he loves her more and because he made a noble mistake so it's okay? 


I'm seeing it from this perspective, for some people it is hard to open up to someone when trust is broken. For others it is hard because they have a guarded personality, others it's because trust has been broken too many times while others, are most traumatized by the people they never saw it coming from, like for example significant others or family members. So when she said she understood him, I saw that as a leap and a testimony not only to her wisdom and sense of justice but also to the fact that the girl is in love. She swore to her grandmother that she won't have anything to do with a man who can bring harm to her family but she loves this man and can't even hurt him. RSB loves but in a very subtle manner. But just because it is subtle does not mean it doesn't matter. Or it isn't there. Do you remember how her little sister misunderstood her. She would see her sister act, but because she was strict in her acting she thought RSB doesn't care for her but failed to see her sister's intentions and heart behind her actions. I feel like RSB is still being misunderstood in this way.
