That was very, very thoughtful of him. Pretty sure he knows the dynamics of relationships in the Lou residence…
Having lived in the palace and faced so many wars and bloodshed, he’s an expert on these things. It’s like CSS is thrown in the lion’s den. It was really so sweet and thoughtful of him how he shamelessly shows his feelings for her in public and only CSS cannot see his intentions. 😅
When LBY was reading the imperial edict and mentioned all of CSS’s virtues, she looked so confused and asked herself if he was talking about her.🤣🤣 She was so surprised. Great move of LBY. 🥰👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Today's episodes were hilarious, i can't believe lby and ys literally cornering ly, poor boy, he studied for two…
What I don’t understand is why CSS’s mom is so hell-bent not to let her marry LY. I mean, she mentioned that LY comes from a prestigious family and CSS may not be able to survive the politics of that family but she favors LBY when his life is more complicated. A general and from an aristocratic family.
She also mentioned if CSS marries LY, what about YY’s marriage prospects? It cannot be lower than LY’s status or else it will shame their family. But if CSS marries LBY who is the 11th prince, then who is the best prospect for YY? The crown prince? I clearly do not empathize with her mom, the damage is already done, how can she expect CSS to heed her advice? She destroyed her relationship with her daughter.
For all intents and purposes, a Lou Yao- Cheng Shaoshao match might not be a bad thing. There is affection, respect…
CSS'S mother was adamant to teach CSS a lesson and wanted nothing to do with her that's why she is sendinf her away. Now, pray tell, why is she intervening in CSS's marriage? So now, she acts to be a mother? I'm glad CSS answered her back towards the end of ep 14. I would do the same thing and said more than CSS.
But that's also still Naksu, lol :). She's double badass both for her magic knowledge and for her clever wits.
Agree. A badass assassin must have brains too. One might be a skilled swordsman (or swordswoman) but if one is not quick-witted and streetsmart, how can s/he survive in dangerous situations.

Oh. That it so sad and unfair to the youngest son. 😢 That culture is deep rooted and not easy to change. Shame on the eldest son. I hope he didn’t drive away his younger brother and family. 😭

I agree. My husband is pure Chinese and I am a hodgepodge of different nationalities (with Chinese blood). The grandma’s antics reminds me of my mother-in-law so it hits close to home. 😂
In China, if I’m not mistaken, sons are the ones supposed to take care of parents, maybe that’s why parents prefer sons since daughters will leave parents when they get married. Is the inheritance thing still applicable now? That’s sad. In my country, inheritance is divided equally among the children unless there is a will left behind by the deceased.
i totally could understand her mother. Do you think CSS did all the little petty tricks is a good example and…
I think most of us will agree that the bridge stunt that she pulled was not good even if she had her reasons. As the old adage goes, the end doesn’t justify the means. Even if the water was shallow, someone coukd have been hurt or seriously injured.
The consensus is that CSS grew up being mischievous because of how she was raised. Heck, even parents who treat their kids properly still ends up having a child that is naughty. In the drama, she was gone for 15 yrs, when she returned, she noticed that her daughter always have tricks up her sleeve, she knew how she was maltreated by the grandma and aunt, even the servants treat her harshly but what did she do? She berated, complained, compared her with her cousin and didn’t even try to understand where she is coming from. Yes, she is already 15, but no one showed her any love. A wayward child needs love the most. Had she acted like her cousin, she will be forever bullied and might not survive.

Oh. She was much worse in the book. So the mother in the drama is the lesser evil then. But I understand (but doesn’t mean I agree) because during that time (even now) boys are preferred over girls. Oh such irony. Mothers are also female, weren’t they also treated badly when they were young? So CSS’s mom in the novel was previously rich?
Re the change of FL. If it was a publicity stunt to hype the drama, it is done in poor taste because it already has high ratings and viewers are very engaged with so many theories and possible plots for the remaining episodes. If S2 casts were leaked and created this mess, then someone is going to have an earful or will be fired.
If what they said that S1 and S2 are stand-alone dramas, then the story for S2 could be anything. We don’t even know how the drama will progress let alone, end (drama is not even halfway through), getting worked up on something that hasn’t even happened and people deciding on dropping it and will not support S2 is just being emotional. As drama watchers, I believe many of us are sensible enough to discern whether a drama is worth to watch. We all have different reasons why we watch dramas; it could be the actors, the story, just plain bored with nothing to do, etc. Let’s just enjoy S1 first lest we lose focus, I was really enjoying reading the theories, some very absurd while others very plausible.
Anyway, to return to this current show, have been rewatching all episodes especially 7 and 8, and it made me think if Jang Wook and Seo Yul’s friendship will be tested because of Mu Deok. When will Jang Wook realize that Naksu is the reason why Seo Yul kept on visiting Danhyanggok? Will the CP pursue Mu Deok? In the upcoming episodes will there be a time when Mu Deok and Jang Wook’s loyalty and relationship will be tested? Can our leads blaze through these obstacles and further strengthen their bond?
I saw many comments saying that FL's illusion didn't come to ML cos they are true to each other. I like their…
I like the theories too, but it made me think that when those illusions happened, CP and Seo Yul were alone in their respective rooms which had a mirror while Jang Wook was talking with maidservant Kim. 😅
