Almost done with the show, I really like the second couple a lot. I love the Poor man/rich woman trope, I'm also a sucker for the "you deserve better than me" trope. Anyone please recommend me Cdramas that uses these tropes!! Thanks~

Yes, as long as it doesn't involve a horrible, bitter, psychotic character like in some ~40 episodes Cdramas.

Kdramas don't give me enough dose of jealous moments (esp now since most Kdramas don't even have them!) so I have to look for other source lmao

The point is the fact that Vee r*pes Mark yet Mark falls in love with him is TOXIC and problematic af so they need to remove the r*pe from this show.

I hope this one skips the r*pe scene from the novel.

It IS r*pe though, romanticised or not isn't relevant. Wee takes pleasure in r*ping Mark and it is a disgusting chapter to read. Mark repeatedly says no but he doesn't listen and pins him down.

Well she sold the rights to the book. If she didn't want the changes to be made, whether minor or major, she should have added a clause to the contract saying so. The director has the legal right to do anything with the story and it's not "problematic"or wrong if he wants to.

They're mine too. Most of them I watch mainly due to their visuals, others I watch due to fluff or jealous moments (hey don't judge, I like jealous moments lmao).

I like Cdramas, they're my guilty pleasures but yes if you're looking for quality dramas, most Cdramas fall super flat and are mediocre at best. This one's one of the better ones because the writing seems good and the acting is good. The show feels different to other idol dramas really.

Coming-of-age to me can be young adults and someone who're still young enough like Tian's character here. But yeah, Self-discovery is a good tag for it too. The self development factor here seems to be more important than romance though, I'm at episode 7 and there have been no progress in romance yet. It's all about Tian learning more about himself and how to help others.

Where did you watch with Eng subs?? I can't find Ep 10 onward with Eng subs.

Yeah, the main leads here are doing a really good job. They can actually act and they do it well too! Unlike most other Cdramas I've seen, where the leads act like art school dropouts.
