But we saw them as kids - they can't be more than a couple of years apart in age.
Park is already working full time as a nurse, meanwhile Tin is a college freshman still deciding his major. So there’s probably like 4 or more years between them. The kid casting was poor (probably had slim pickings after all the kids they already casted in minor roles).
I definitely feel it's more of a coming of age rather than a simple RomCom. Those who were looking for a fun RomCom…
If you want some other non-fluff/romcom style coming-of-age/life dramas with BL storylines that I recommend (and you haven't watched yet): - Remember Me - Behind Cut - Shujin Ko
Notable mention: Tsukuritai Onna to Tabetai Onna (GL)

No, i promise that the low rating is because of the writing and acting. I actually LOVE the mellow tone here. I didn't come in expecting a standard romcom, nor did I ever form that expectation.
This story has so much potential with these characters, their lives, and their dynamics. Like legitimately, so so much. But the majority of it loses its weight in conversations and/or the portrayal of their emotions. And then several seemingly important things seemingly get lost between episodes, only to be brought up again like it's an all-new reveal. Plus, we're constantly getting distracted from them by repetitious non-relevant children and the same old conversations. Not to mention the fact that all the leads are adults, but pout and whine like children.
It's great that you can see so clearly the potential and intent behind the flaws, but for a lot of us, that eventually becomes too hard to keep ahold of. Some of us are looking forward to the eventual episode where the writers, direction team, and actors can hopefully have enough footing to give us this complex and human story of grief, family strain, acceptance of self, and hope that we can see gorgeous glimpses of from time to time.
Don't dismiss our critiques so easily as "y'all were expecting something different" without fully hearing us out first. Yes, we were expecting something different. Not a romcom. Not a fluff story. But rather a story that gives all these serious components the seriousness, weight, and screentime they deserve.
I understand Park's hesitation. One, Tin is still a teenager and two, Tin is more or less an orphan and Park has…
This, 100%. There's so much here that's great in potential. But the writing, directing, and acting more or less make a mockery out of it all, at worst, or forgets about it, at best.
is someone going to eventually get rid of the part 1 / part 2 nonsense? it's not split anymore, right?i always…
MyDramaList goes by how it is officially listed domestically, how it gets aired/released, and how it gets licensed to networks and streaming giants. If they did indeed change it domestically to not be in 2 parts, and they get released as such, then I'm sure someone with more familiarity with Chinese media practices and sources will come in and have it changed.
Definitely one of my favorite GL webdramas at the the moment. The acting and atmosphere was immersive even while being mellow and low-angst (not to the point of being fluffy though).
The female lead felt excessively dense. She seemed to have one expression as well: pouty and confused. Her best friend is just as dense, and permanently cheerful. In fact, all 4 characters were pretty one-dimensional, and the atmosphere just felt consistently flat.
“A little bit passive, truly hardworking with spontaneous outburst of courage with flight reaction that follows.” >>>. Spot on. Lol. Couldnt say it better.
Indeed, both actors did their characters so much justice! I was sold all the way through on their performances. I only complimented one more over the other because when Eddie got emotional, i empathized so deeply that I started feeling the same emotions. Which really speaks to the acting since it was such a fluffy story.
hello it's me again and i want to watch this too much
It's still getting screened domestically in theaters, with profits reportedly getting donated to LGBTQ+ organizations. So it might be a while till it gets internationally released.
In which countries this series is available in Iqiyi app?
I know that at the very least, it is in the US. The only other streaming app i'm aware that has it is GagaOOlala, so I think a pretty sizable number of countries should have it on IQIYI.
Look... I'm still here simply because I'm curious where on earth they're taking this story. I know maybe 3 or 4 things for sure. Those things being who the 2 end-game gay couples are, the fact that Tin's senior is going to lead to Park getting jealous, and that Pao's homophobic parents are going to be a problem. I'm completely clueless about everything else in this story. Legitimately. I cant predict nada.
For those wondering, episode 5 has proven that there is a difference between the cut and uncut version. Gonna have to change my perspective of this being a show meant for kids.
"Don't do that again unless you like me." Talk about actions speak louder than words. Another scene that came out of nowhere, but thats the trend, yes?
These leads apparently spend too much time with children. They rarely act their ages.
Tin. Honey. Why are you so persistent about Park? I don't see the appeal!!
Tin and Park exemplify a common concern about acquittances/friends-to-lovers age-gap romances (and I dont even know if they have an age-gap 🤷🏼♀️): Park can't seem to tell and stay consistent with how he's viewing Tin. A kid in his care? A childhood friend? Someone he's got feelings for? Who knows?! He doesn't. I don't.

Also, I love this GL cafe/bar setting trend.
