Why the odd amount? Was she trying to match fan donations?Dollars as in american dollars or korean? Cos I feel…
At the same time, don't be delusional. We're not all equal and life's not fair. Best way to navigate is acknowledge ourselves in a realistic manner and do our best with what we've got.

Admit you've lost. She's not doing it "just to be seen by them" so your quote is less pertinent too.

Yes, she is better than me in every way I can imagine. I'm nobody, she's IU, there's no contest ☺️

Is that how you judge what other people should do with their money, based on your priorities and what they can afford? That's communism isn't it? I'd like to see her do a bit less to reduce the heavy burden she's already bearing so she can rest and do what she wants. She already generates a hefty sum for the Korean economy; regarding her donations, she doesn't owe anyone that money, she's giving it away - much easier to tell other people to give away all their money, isn't it?

Obviously it's in the contract. Why would anyone, a millionaire apologize to the public for their own personal…
You make a good point, I like it though, the Korean celebrity conduct rulebook. Consider how the conduct of American celebs like Will Smith has damaged the entire institution, the entire public perception of Hollywood, The Oscars, etc. That's what happens when celebrities lose touch with reality, the hubris required to act out at a huge event is off the scale - suddenly the value of every asset Smith touched turned to dust. Every time a big mouthed American celeb makes their personal life public on sns, be it a personal crusade, vendetta, criticism, they damage that whole institution a little bit more. When they get caught taking drugs, committing crimes, a little more damage. And as a result, Hollywood has no respect today*, because the people that work there show no respect to it, and us. It isn't the case that social media destroyed Hollywood, it's the assumption that the people in the industry could do and say whatever they wanted without recourse. Please give me the South Korean system any day.
* There are a few dignified Hollywood stars left, such as Tom Cruise; as Spielberg said, he saved Hollywood, for now.

She's doing more than all of us put together, it's enough. She has no ulterior motive, every time I read about Korean celebrities' continuous donations and continuous support for good causes, not only with money but with their time, energy and love, I find it inspirational. It can be overwhelmingly burdensome to carry the weight of such responsibility but IU carries it. I think if you saw the total she's given away so far, at her young age, you'd be amazed.

I'm watching and loving it. I like slow and healing dramas. The romance is really cute too.
Thanks... I'm a little averse to the term 'healing', when I hear it, it strangely makes me feel unwell, ironically - I tend to avoid anything described as 'healing' as a result. I guess I'm crazy.
