Hollywood is no longer the epicenter of film and television art. It went into decline 15 years ago and started…
I understand, so was I, just thought Hollywood was a strange comparison. I heard Disney's Hollywood dramas like she-hulk, star wars, etc. were all a bit sh*t. I'm an anti-fan, haven't seen anything from Disney since it pulled its content from Netflix. I can't justify subscribing just to watch the odd K-drama it wants to mess with.

it deserves so much more , it's production is one of the best in all k dramas , comparable to Hollywoodwish it…
Hollywood is no longer the epicenter of film and television art. It went into decline 15 years ago and started selling garbage, which went very well for it until the audiences caught on. SK will do well to avoid following suit, at the end of the day art is judged on its artistic merit.

End of TVN era ???
Ebbs and flows. tvN seems to be chasing cheap thrills for its prime time slots at the moment. I think audiences see straight through that and turn to a trusted purveyor of quality drama in Jtbc*. However, a humble Mon/Tue tvN drama My Lovely Liar shows they can still do it.

* I'm pretty sure the artistic controllers at tvN didn't want to make UC2, the first series was hollow. Saying that, I'm also wondering how Behind Your Touch on Jtbc made it to production, it obviously looked better on paper, it's forced humour and very unfunny, quite embarrassing - coincidentally they're both backed financially by Netflix... and they're *both* turkeys in my view. I predict the ratings for both will not end on a high. The sign of success is when the domestic ratings trend upwards from start to finish, let's see... still early days.

i just watched the first episode and i couldn’t stop laughing. i don’t understand this bad rating… are people…
Some people are easily amused. Nobody cares about touching an ass, it's just not funny or clever. One for the double digits... IQ not ratings.

After a long time I finally feel like I'm invested in a kdrama
Agree, I don't want the episodes to end

The "The Master's Sun" TV cameo
Yes... and the awkwardness of watching TV sitting next to a new date too, second guessing what they're thinking, holding your farts in, those were the days. The prostate ad was a nice touch too.

I initially set this to 'not interested' but decided to watch one episode based on the comments here. I've now caught up with all 4 episodes and it's well worth it. A really well written and put together drama, Kim So-hyun has impressed me, she's talented, good performances all round, well paced, perfectly balanced. Rooney's Tarot Café 😆

Funnily enough, if the protagonist was a man and he had to touch boobs... it would have actually been funny.
Right, I'm sure I inadvertently lifted a manga plot there, nothing that hasn't been done! What I meant though was that this drama's just not funny at all, there are no jokes, no comedic situations, bad timing, no fun. There's nobody on the team that understands comedy. It gives me secondhand embarrassment to watch, too cringey to continue. Han Ji-min should have turned this one down; in her favour, her reputation's strong enough to withstand the odd turkey like this. It probably looked better on paper.

I do wonder how this would go over at the pitch meeting if they said ML is gonna had power that needs to touch…

Not great. Why would a lifetime friend suddenly feel the need to announce that her mom's a deacon when arriving at the shaman? Plot explaining and it's not even funny. Characters are just doing and saying stuff with no personality. I even saw a woman stick her head out of a car window wearing florescent spectacle frames - if that's what this drama considers comedy, 'funny' glasses, 'funny' hair, 'funny' clothes, clown shoes, well... it's not for me. I get it's trying to be funny, but is this the level, isn't it patronising to country folk?

First let me start with saying I loveee this actress but omg please we have to have a line when actresses should…
It's just so we know who's who without a long build up. Otherwise to cut into those scenes at that pace would have been confusing.

I like the leads but tis slapstick style aint really doing it for me. And OMG i luv the 25-21, 55-51 reference.…
Agree so far. Slapstick has to originate from a funny idea to work and it's trying a bit too hard. First episode made me think... this is very Netflixy - as in Netflix the producer.

Is there romance?
It says stepsibling romance. I repeat something I said elsewhere in more detail: manga authors are shut-ins, otaku, on the spectrum, emotionally immature. I don't get why they're popular, I was disappointed with this series, by episode three I'd listed 5 things that don't make sense in the world we live in... which doesn't apply to the limited scope of these authors.

So this just came to Netflix, and it looks really good. I have some questions. Is this a revenge drama? Is there…
It's a manga, don't expect a meaningful narrative, but the answers are: Yes. No. Yes. No.
