Title The Trunk
If anyone is able to edit this, please add Jo Yi-geon in the cast. He plays Yoon Ji-oh (Lee Seo Yeon's current…
He was good, not your average toy boy.

ok, but am I the only one seeing references to some of The Goblin's iconic scenes?/!!!
Yes, just you. The only connection to Goblin is Gong Yoo. It wouldn't even be funny to do that these days.

Being halfway through this eight episode show and feeling confused as to what the show is actually trying to say…
You're probably wondering what it's got to do with trunks too.

A few red flags in this drama. I gave it 7 based on the great leads, some interesting scenarios and confrontations and the fact I was compelled to watch the next episodes.
Why the silly nude scene with a body double, I mean, fair enough if the body double got a decent wage, but it contributed nothing to the narrative.
What was the point of the silly political speech about the matriarchal society delivered by one of the beta male characters?
Stuff like that, red flags with a big red N emblazoned, like a Netflix pirate ship or something.

I’ll admit, there are some points in the plot that made me raise an eyebrow. One of them being how the story…
True, a tall order, the premise. And a cultish contract marriage agency with 'keepers', and field agents. Now I think about it, I think my rating of 7 was generous.

WTPR is great drama the main actors are great no doubt
Top quality and pitched just right - a total winner
They're both excellent, the leads, the way they understand their characters. If I didn't know better I'd believe Soo-bin was mute irl, she's totally convincing with her expressions, her receptive look when she's listening, truly amazing. Both potential Baeksang* nominees.

* Or according to Netflix's subtitlers that would be: Paiksang. Those dummies at Netflix can't deliver a great drama without ruining something!!

Hong Hee-joo getting a job in the Blue House is a clear case of nepotism, facilitated by her husband, who works…
Once you wake up to the real world you'll find out that powerful people can do what they like and there isn't a damn thing you can do about it, sorry to break that news to you. Which employment law, specifically, has he broken? How can he protect his wife, as part of his own job requirement, if everyone knew who she was? It's been made clear in the drama - it's almost as if you're not paying attention, just trying to apply nerdy employment laws for regular office workers to a specialist detail is nonsense.

And if you knew what you were talking about you'd use assertive language - not vague statements like "a serious ethical and legal violation" which allows you to twist the truth to be on your side, even when it isn't.

As far as HR is concerned, she's as entitled as anyone to apply for the job and to reveal who she's married to is *not allowed* to ensure unconscious bias is not part of the process and privacy law is upheld. Her husband didn't make the hiring decision, the people you claim will be upset by it, made it - in which case you must be suggesting that although they thought she was the best candidate they'd have eliminated her based on her marriage, which is discriminatory - against employment law in my country at least.

What did she falsify in her application? Nothing. She has complied with the law.

So you're wrong, and I don't accept your attempt to spoil this drama. Such bullshit!

I read it's love triangle so fl love both mls and she have complete relationship with both of them one she was…
I can watch (almost!) anything with my favourite actors - I trust they chose a good drama and enjoy watching what they do. I recently watched all of Han Ye-seul's titles on Kocowa, they're all great .. and I don't remember her kissing 2ML in this one, fyi. It's basically about two people destined for each other who are blocked by seemingly insurmountable reasons. There's one of her titles that would dissatisfy you, it certainly made me mad: Spy Myeong-wol... the ML treats her so badly it was unforgivable - should have been no way back from it for him! Probably the weakest ML I've ever seen, not a man.

There's more to it, everything's nuanced - not what it seems. The parents cause more grief in this one. I think you should start watching otherwise I'll spoil all the surprises.

Great question. No, its mature, the two leads know their feelings... sounds like you're describing Something Happened in Bali - that one is painful, but another classic for melodrama fans.

Edit... Btw, the young versions of the leads are also remarkable, you'll see why, there's an incredibly choreographed scene in ep.1 where young Nam Ji-hyun comes a cropper while riding her bicycle, so funny!

made by dummies ? 🤣 you should put yourself in the case " im way to impatient to live beautiful things " .
Probably right. If I see red flags one after another, I'm out of there. There's other stuff to watch. Let's just say it was one of the worst drama intros I've seen, not a single likeable character or deed from the get go... up until the 15th minute. That first 15 minutes was designed to eject people like me from the audience, I get that it was not aimed at me, I dutifully obliged, but... since it was so obnoxious it needed to be slagged off too, to which I also dutifully obliged.

one of my earliest kdrama was W, at that time I didn't even know who LJS or HHJ was, so I watched it with no pre-conception…
Thanks for your reply, good points. Actually my favourite drama is still Secret Garden, where I first saw LJS and liked him a lot... from there he made a giant leap from support cast to ML, for me that leap was too big, he went into ML with too little experience and not enough charisma, he got a free ride off the real talents behind SG's success imho (h=humble).
Basically, I agree, you're probably right that I have a bias.
