In the novel, chen yi is such a red flag. He’s manipulative, obsessive, scary, and even abusive at times. I remember there was a chapter where he hit miao jing while she was still in school, after her mom ran away.
While miao jing is also so manipulative. I honestly think she’s a bigger red flag than chen yi. Anyways, i feel like others in the comments

They toned down everything in the drama. In the novel, both characters are so crazy omg, but honestly it was kinda interesting
