I understand wanting him to be paired up with actresses of his age or really younger but XK seems to want to be taken really seriously for his acting. The reality is that MOST of these older actresses that he worked with are known for being great acting talents (Seven , JingTian............). There is a reason why a lot of his FLs are older . I wished some of his fans would understand that. Imo lot of these popular actresses arent the best actresses and mostly have popularity on their side. I personally dont mind working him with really younger or " older" actresses.
From his generation, the actresses that I think are really good for their acting besides their popularity is Lusi....but then again not sure if that pairing will happen anytime soon. Li Landi is another good one who I have seen praised for her acting.

Also the plot started to become a little too convoluted imo. Imo it didn't need 40 episodes. I didn't watch SOPG so idk if the comparisons are true.

Maybe in the past but I really dont think that she dwells on it anymore. I remember one of her interviews in the past and she alleges how she was told that she would never really be a Lead actress with her baby/round face but she proved them wrong. She has a very philosophical, logical way on looking at things. What I gather from her interviews is that she knows and understand that everyone is unique and everyone brings their individuality to the table; she would rather focus on the grand scope of things instead of superficial stuff like this.
