1) it's for the sake of morality and humanity. However, WJ which they knew in the past was a good person who always helped shaoshang. That's why they tried to talk nicely and hoped that WJ would come to her senses. Here LBY also said that after what he did to Ling Yi, then he saw shaoshang and felt full of regret.
