Title The Untamed
Damn, I was not expecting to cry to Xue Yang's story. It's sad how his childhood was, the self-destructive path he took, and the lives he ruined, especially the life of the only person who ever showed him genuine kindness. In hurting Xiao Xingchen as revenge, he ended up hurting himself most of all.

Life really does have people like these. They don't massacre clans like Xue Yang but they hurt others, and themselves, in other ways due to the hurt caused in childhood. It made me reflect about the impact anything I said in childhood may have had on others. We should really be careful of our choices.

I would like to praise the author for crafting such a storyline that causes us to pause, reflect, and internalize these life lessons.

He was adorable and endearing in The Untamed. I loved the way he played Wen Ning. Innocent like a child at most times and terrifying when he was in attack mode.

Title The Untamed
Random but when big sister came to show Wei Wuxian her wedding dress and was serving soup to her brothers, I suddenly remembered that Wen Ning was standing outside all alone while the brothers were busy eating soup and I found that unfair. Right at that moment in the show, she got up to share soup with Wen Ning. I was so proud of her. She was always thoughtful. A gem of a person.

Fr😭But I'll suffer myself to watch it, bcoz according to me, if I don't watch something completely, I don't…
I completely understand. Lakorns do have a different, slightly exaggerated vibe than BL series.

I want to report that instead of watching a new BL, I decided to re-watch "Bad Buddy." That satisfied my craving for watching a great BL and so I gave "To Sir, With Love" another shot. I'm glad I did because it is turning out to be a very engaging and enjoyable show. Many twists and turns in every episode. I still don't think it's a BL, so if you're in the mood for a BL, this show would be lower down the watchlist, but you should definitely watch it sometime.

If you are in the mood for a good historical BL, I highly recommend watching "Love In The Moonlight." It was beautiful! And free to watch in full HD on YouTube. Some of the locations in "Love In The Moonlight" are the same as in "To Sir, With Love," so that was interesting to note. I hope you enjoy "Love In The Moonlight" as much as I did.

Same. It became unbearably childish and illogical for me by episode 2. I waited so long for this series to conclude…
Yep. People have different opinions. You can dislike 'A Boss and a Babe.' I won't be rude to you for that. It isn't always a personal attack on you when someone doesn't like what you like so there was no need to be rude to me. Anyways, have a good day.

Thank you. You are right, I shouldn't have rated it yet. I have removed the rating and have put the show on hold for now. I will restart it when I feel like watching something light-hearted.
I think the problem is when I read the synopsis, I expected a much more serious drama rather than a comedy. In other words, I was watching it with preconceived notions. And when it didn't conform to my expectations, I disliked it. But I need to watch it with an open mind and see how it goes. Some other commentors (who have a positive impression of the show) have noted that the first 3 episodes are a bit childish but the series improves later on so my interest is piqued in what happens next.

he is an amazing actor. i just hope he accepts many roles outside gmmtv coz that company cant appreciate his talent…
Not gonna lie, I primarily enjoy BLs and I like Thai BLs especially because they often focus on romantic love, feelings, doing nice things for each other, have agreeable messages about interacting with other members of society, strike a good balance between individualism and collectivism, and don't feature homophobia too much. I don't see that happening in a series made outside Thailand, especially Western series in English.
I'm also lowkey worried that Ohm may being exposed to the Western brand of stigma against homosexuality in Australia and that may discourage him from acting in the shows I like to watch (i.e. BLs). But perhaps I am overthinking.
I certainly hope he gets many more series to display his talent and I hope at least some of those series continue to be BL because he is one of the best actors in the BL industry.

I was really looking forward to this series. But by Episode 3, I actually wanted to stop watching. It's a shame…
Same. It became unbearably childish and illogical for me by episode 2. I waited so long for this series to conclude so I could binge it. The concept of a jovial junior trying to win the heart of a cold senior is good. I wish they had made the series just a little bit more serious instead of this cringey comedy. I had just finished re-watching 'Bad Buddy' when I started this, so the difference between that masterpiece and this series was even more stark.

Edit: Based off the comments, it (maybe) improves later on. I may re-visit this. But I feel like a good series should be able to captivate you from the start. Then again, I mustered through 'Secret Crush on You' and eventually came to have a positive opinion of that series.

He acts very well, whether it's a happy role or a sad, reflective one. I really appreciate that when he does BL, he goes all in and you don't see any hesitation on his part doing lovey-dovey scenes like you see with some other actors.
I had watched him in "Bad Buddy" earlier and liked him, but I truly started appreciating his acting when I saw him in "He's Coming To Me." His acting and chemistry with Singto were amazing. Since then I've seen "The Shipper" and "Make It Right" too, and I truly believe Ohm can create chemistry with any actor. I'm rewatching "Bad Buddy" these days (it's my comfort show) and I'm noticing more and more how well and how naturally he acted. Some other actors would have made those same scenes seem inauthentic.
It's really unfortunate that some Ohm-Nanon fans haven't been respectful of boundaries. I am worried Ohm may quit acting in BLs and we will lose a great actor. In the future, I hope instead of having a 'set-in-stone' ship, he continues to act in BL series with various acting partners. I have faith that he will act very well and have chemistry with all of them.

Title Bad Buddy
In episode 1, Pat's Line ID is PatInwza55+. There's an Easter egg here that may go unnoticed: In Thai internet culture (especially the early 2010s), this would have been seen as a cool username. If we break down "Inwza55+" we can see why.
lnw: This is Thai "Leet" speak. When written together, the letters "lnw" look like the Thai word เทพ (Thep) which means "god."
za: The word ซ่า (za or sa) is is a slang suffix that means "cool" or "badass."
55+: In Thai, the name for the number 5 is pronounced "ha." So, 55+ is "haha." The + just adds extra emphasis.
Having a username like "patlnwza" (Pat-Thep-Za) is the equivalent of a gamer from 2010 having a username like EpicGod. It’s a "cool guy" username that has now become cringey, which fits Pat’s goofy, charming personality. It’s meant to show that Pat has probably used the same account since he was a middle-school gamer. This is why Pran calls him childish when he hears his Line ID for the first time.

I'm the same way! 😫 I recently started "To Sir, With Love" thinking it was a BL (just look at the name!) but it's actually a lakorn with a gay side character. It's okay but not my cup of tea. So the reason I am here is because I am literally searching for another show to start watching by looking up synopses and comments on different series. BUT I'm still going to watch more episodes of "To Sir, With Love" to see if it gets better 🥲

I can't believe this gem was sitting in my "plan to watch" list for way too long! 😭It was really good.…
I was scared to watch the final episode because I didn't want to lose Saenkaew and Sasin. I didn't want their story to end. I would miss them too greatly. But the series had such a wonderful ending; my heart is content and at peace. I still think about those two but I remember the final scene and know that they are happy. What an amazing series to make me care so much about fictional characters.

Title Love in the Moonlight Spoiler
what is thai series obssession with giving sudden redemptions to the worst characters in the history of cinema?…
Filial piety and respecting parents (and elders in general) is still a thing in Asian cultures so I can understand why the drama showed the characters forgiving Kamfah. Honestly, I see the teaching of forgiveness as a good thing, though yes, Kamfah being willing to kill Sasin is egregious. He didn't try to kill Saenkaew; on the contrary, he only let Sasin live because of Saenkaew's threat of retaliatory suicide.
You'll also notice that in this series, instead of Kamfah being motivated purely by homophobia (as we'd expect from a Western series), he was depicted as being secretly motivated by fear that his son would be mistreated if people found out he was gay. It promotes the idea prevalent in Asian cultures that parents are motivated by good intentions for their kids, even if the actions generated from those intentions are wrong and need rectifying.

I knew that rabbits were kind of a symbol for homosexuality (that is why you would see a ton of them in the untamed)…
From what I read, it is a historical slang term that was used in the spoken dialect of Beijing back in the Qing dynasty era for actors who played female roles (female impersonators). This usage likely stemmed from the ancient Chinese belief that rabbits could shift between male and female, or could reproduce without mating. It was also used as a slang term for men who had sex with men and men who had relationships with men during the Qing Dynasty.

Interestingly, the deity specifically associated with gay love in Chinese mythology is Tu'er Shen, which translates to "the Rabbit God." According to Qing dynasty scholar and poet Yuan Mei, Tu'er Shen was originally a mortal man named Hu Tianbao. He fell in love with a handsome imperial official. He was caught spying on the official and was beaten to death. Because his crime was committed out of love rather than malice, the officials of the Underworld decided to right the wrong by appointing him as a deity: the guardian of men who love men. By naming him the "Rabbit God," the legend took a derogatory slang term and elevated it to a divine title. It was a way for the community to reclaim the word and find spiritual protection under a name that the public already associated with them.

The rabbit has additional meanings in China. It is one of the twelve animals of the Chinese Zodiac and is generally seen as a symbol of grace, mercy, and luck.

Today, it is frequently used by Chinese people as a positive, patriotic self-identifier. The rabbit is used to symbolize China as being "harmless to humans and animals" (peaceful) but capable of "kicking" when provoked. Online, patriotic Chinese young people often refer to themselves as "rabbits" (兔友, tùyǒu).

The lotus seed scene was one of best scenes in the series. The lighting, the perfectly timed music, Sasin's deep slow-mo voice praising the seed as sweet, Saenkaew's face, the fact that Sasin let his intrusive thoughts win, the fact that such a simple act was so intimate. I kept replaying it in my mind for days 🥰
