Can someone tell me if this is a translation thing from Korean to English subtitles?
I've noticed in K-dramas, when someone says, "I like you," they really mean they are romantically infatuated with the other person. "I have a crush on you."
Whereas in English, "I like you," can mean, "You're a nice person," "You're a good friend," or "You're Okay!" But it can also mean, "I have a really big crush on you."
In Korean, are there different levels of meaning for "I like you" ? Or does "I like you" always mean, "I have a crush on you" ?
I also worked for a bit tech company based in San Fran, and nobody got sabaticals. It really depends on the company. But yeah, it doesn't fit with Chris thinking the year off was a negative.
Since Chris implied the year off was for a negative reason, I doubt it was a sabbatical. I worked for a major US computer company for 25 years as a senior principal engineer and nobody I worked with ever got a sabbatical. I certainly didn't.
Why doesn't the FL start a YouTube (or equivalent) channel with her cooking videos? She could be raking in the ad revenue and be an influencer for knives and pots and pans already. Or a cooking blog? She's got the time and the computer skills.
I can't help but find myself not really rooting for the main couple to end up together. After giving it some thought,…
FL really has turned into her mother. Hitting everyone she loves.
ML's mother is so cold to him. While FL's mother actually mothered him. I think he's attracted to FL despite how she treats him, because he sees that FL's mother loves her husband, and FL is just like her own mother.
In episode 5, it's mentioned that FL took a year off from Greip. Do you think she got pregnant and had a baby? And…
Chris and FL are both Korean, so even if Americans wouldn't have batted an eye at FL getting pregnant and being unmarried, FL may have been embarrassed about it and Chris knows how to push FL's buttons.

I'm at the end of episode 6, and I have a thought.

And when Dan Ho says his child's mother is far away, I'm assuming they're not married, but she's not dead. Otherwise I'd expect him to be a bit choked up about mentioning her.
So, where do you think ML's father is all night long? He has a day shift at the hospital, but never comes home until the morning? Does he have a mistress and that's why ML's mom is so frosty to him? Or does Dad stay away all night because Mom no longer likes him? She definitely wants to be sent overseas and can't stand being home at all.

And she could have also had a miscarriage.
Nah. That would be tooooo much of a coincidence.
