thank goodness there was no complete reconciliation between xu yan and her birth parents even at the very end of love's ambition...

the cracks can never be fully healed so it's more about xu yan making peace with herself and letting herself go

she no longer needs love from her parents. she has her grandmother, sister, shen haoming and his family, and more and more love from close friends.

that final "thank you" already carries a deep sense of estrangement and this life will probably just be one of polite distance, never interfering with each other again
