Yes, the gap wasn't a big one BUT his character gave off the vibe that she was like a little sister to him if I remember correctly because it's been a long time since I watched it. It's not a wonder they don't openly date or most of them don't. Some are like F*ck it, this is my girlfriend or boyfriend type of thing. I'm quite surprised that actors, Lee Chae-min and his girlfriend Ryu Da-in simply just came out about their relationship early on but most people seem to "accept" it although it's not uncommon to see very rude remarks about her online. Fans don't think she is attractive enough to go out with him etc. All that matters is what HE thinks of her.

It seems to be more of an Asian thing . I have seen where Chinese actors are at award shows and they aren't allowed to associate with certain people, namely those other actors who are in other companies. That's one thing showing a possessive nature but also their fans are much the same as the Korean fans who believe they have a stake in "their" celebrities life and/or their lifestyle so therefore they can dictate how they should act, who they should or shouldn't date and all that stuff.
It's not a wonder why there have been so many Korean/Chinese celebs (a lot of younger ones) and even a designer last I heard who have taken their lives because one can easily surmise that in the end, the burden they carried having to essentially live their lives by rule of others was just too great for them 😭
On YouTube you can see the swaths of fans that are constantly showing up at the airport in Seoul trying to get a glimpse of their favourite Idols walking with their bodyguards to exit or enter and once they walk past, fans begin to systematically flip or knock over the barricades that were specifically set up to keep the Idols safe. It is like a fricken zoo. It's those girls running alongside the Idols with their camera phones like crazed saesangs.
On the one hand Asian culture is something to really be admired especially with how they revere their elders and how proper they become when speaking to someone who might be slightly older than they are by making sure to incorporate honorifics and just in general how proper and classy they are with most things BUT when a celeb is thrown into the mix it somehow becomes a whole different animal. They act so differently. They lose their shit.
It doesn't help when K-Dramas continually show this Korean trope of having their leading male or females getting pelted with eggs while having to deal with mass protesting complete with bullhorns OR the absolute weirdest one of them all is when they actually send funeral wreaths to be placed outside of companies. Who has money for that type of crap? Bizarre to say the least. When people did that to Suga of BTS over the scooter thing, I was just absolutely appalled. How can anyone measure up to those standards? That's NOT a fan, that is a fanatic.
This show highlights how extreme SOME of these netizens can be. They think they own celebrities (and non celebrities) and should have a say in how they live their lives. They actually believe that they have a right to dictate such matters. It portrays them as being busy bodies and from what I've seen with how they treat some of the Asian celebrities, they're not wrong.
It's unbelievable how much organization is planned, starting with those ridiculous funeral wreaths that are sent to the company en masse, along with the gang of protesters yelling and waving with their signs like a bunch of Koolaid drinking cult members being led by those wing nuts packing their bullhorns, right down to the eggs being launched at people which by the way is a form of assault, I find that behavior to be a goddamn disgrace.
It's absolutely hilarious how these protesters seem to have the time and the endless resources to show upon a dime wherever and whenever to whine, bitch and moan about something that has absolutely nothing to do with them. Do any of them actually work for a living or do they take the day off from their job to go and protest at someone else's company or home?
Good grief Charlie Brown! This show was a waste of time. Months have passed since the finale and it doesn't seem like any of them are any more relationship savvy than what they had started out. They make it seem like holding hands is something scandalous and you ought to ask permission. Are people really this timid in South Korea?
It's like they didn't even really try to keep in touch with each other or continue on and try to have a real relationship so what's the point of going on a show like this?

I thought Hyun Seo was very patient. I was rooting for her. It's too bad she didn't have another admirer because maybe Hyuk Joon wouldn't have taken her for granted the way he did. If you have no competition vying for the gal you're initially interested in, and you then find out some of the other gals are interested in getting to know you, well your ego kicks in which is what happened to him. And it was ridiculous how he used the phrase, "going on tour" like give me a break. To be clear, there's nothing wrong with getting to know everybody because that's what the show is about but as I said if you know that no one else is interested in someone, you're not afraid to put them on the back burner until you feel like dealing with them...
I am sorry if this sounds harsh but I can't believe how clueless they all are. Surely they've seen some kdramas and have at least seen how guys and girls interact with each other 🤔
I realize that some of you might like this story but oh my god, I found it to be absolutely ridiculous.
She had ZERO self respect and then had the audacity to whine, bitch and moan that nobody accepted her for how she was and believed it was because of all the men she had slept with and all the partying that she's done. Well you know what yeah, can anyone honestly say they would be proud to bring home a partner to their parents when they are like that? And if the roles were reversed and she was the one bringing home somebody with those qualities, would she be proud of that? This show really missed the mark for me.
And another thing, the fact that in the end she chose "herself" that is just a blatant rip off of a storyline from the 90's Aaron Spelling TV show called, 90210. The love triangle on that show had one of the female lead's finally picking someone in what had to be one the most exhaustive storylines known to mankind. And you didn't have to watch the show to know what was going on because that's all anyone talked about. The shocking way that the character said, "I choose me" was eye rolling at best 🙄
