Pfft. I think we are mentally still at Bad buddy Friday calender. Tomorrow is going to be a shock and no doubt…
I will be counting down the Fridays until the eventual reveal of any special or movie or sequel or anything. No matter what, Bad Buddy, Pat and Pran will always have a special place in my heart.
While rewatching EP 9, I noticed this in the scene when Pat, Pran, Ink and Pa were having double date hotpot dinner in Pat's room.
Pat and Pran were arguing who were whipped for who first, who seduced who first (actually it's them both at the same time :))
Pran: 'No more curry for you'
(Again Pran in EP 7 - 'Do you like curry?' and 'I always wanted to cook something for someone I like')
Pat is so fortunate to have so much of Pran's special curry all that time (and I am sure that's what he had again when Pran came back to Bangkok in the finale episode)
https://archiveofourown.org/works/36686161For those of us who are looking at a beautiful story of what happens…
It's beautifully written:
"I'll wait for you right here," Pat promised, kissing Pran's forehead "We went through so much shit we'll manage this as well. In four months we'll meet again, and then we can spend forever together. No more goodbyes, only me annoying you for the rest of our days."
EP10 Pat was walking up the Archi steps screaming his love for Pran. "Gu chorb mueng, Rak mueng khun dieyw. Rak…
I don't speak Thai myself, but from the words, I think it can mean something like, 'I love you until death parts us' (Like the wedding vow - Till death do us part) which therefore means, 'I love you forever'.
Ah, just noticed that you are living in Vancouver! I'm not surprised as there are a lot of migrants from Hong Kong and their descendants there. In Hong Kong, 4 and 14 are always taboo, and all with 4 as you mentioned, while at the same time the Western taboo for 13 is also observed. :)
Bad Buddy EP 7 Revisited (Part I) (also available in discussion page)
Some time has passed from the Architecture summer camp, and Pat and Pran are assumed to have gradually progressed further in their relationship (in the context of their bet). When Pat told Pran (and flirting with him) if he wants to take his passenger seat, we see later on several occasions how that seat is for Pran and Pran only.
(This is an important symbolism, as the passenger seat beside the driver indicates the place reserved for the person's special and significant one - a family member or a close friend can share that too)
We see the beautiful revelation that Pran's parents are not homophobic at all, as shown when his mum said that it's perfectly ok for Pran to be in relationship with a guy. This again reminds us that Bad Buddy takes place in a world where homosexuality is more accepted than currently (in general) is the case. Thailand in perspective is actually relatively open in this regard, especially in the recent years and decades (so it's not necessarily a fictional world per se)
Their problem (Pran's mum's problem in particular), as we all now know, is Pat's family. She cannot and doesn't want to allow Pran to come near Pat's family, as we later know how Pat's dad had wronged her, and this hurt was passed on to the next generation. She was still holding that grudge in her back then.
Then, we see the first glimpse (of what was already somewhat implied on) of the ultimate GL ending for Ink and Pa, as Ink became Pa's guide and helped her during her first time in the university. We can already see from that time, how they were also destined for each other.
The Architecture play on Kwan and Riam's story (which is kind of Thailand's version of Romeo and Juliet story) is an interesting parallel to Pat and Pran's own story. And this play served as a very important catalyst in bringing both of them together (Pat's determination to chase after Pran here is really commendable), and how later on (as unpleasant it may be to us on the first watch), they were revealed to the fellow students.
Later on then we see how Pat and Pran continued flirting with each other, and Pran said that he had always wanted to cook for someone whom he likes (link this with the start of EP 8, once they are already officially in relationship, when Pat cooked breakfast for Pran to have his 'breakfast in bed')
Then going on to the library scene, Wai's summary of the Kwan and Riam story in the play basically described just how Pat and Pran were feeling then, both of them having fallen so deeply at each other that they couldn't stop doing things to one another to try to get the other's attention and to be ever closer together. They were fated to be together. I have mentioned earlier on in the earlier episodes how fate has pushed them closer, by several important lucky coincidences, without which they could have remained apart.
I have also mentioned earlier on in a separate comment how Nong Nao represents Pat's heart. Pat leaving Nong Nao in Pran's room represents how Pran has ensnared his heart and that his heart will only have place for him alone. As he asked Pran to return Nong Nao to his room, Pat was trying to get Pran to return his love, and hope that he will give in (still in the context of their game).
Hope if we have a special episode, we can see something even better!
(And don't be sad, in our lives it is indeed hard to find such a relationship, but we have to stay positive and hopeful ok? :D)

Of course I am happy too :D

For those of us who are looking at a beautiful story of what happens after the ending in EP 12 :)
How many of us are waiting for 'EP 13' tomorrow? (:(
But have faith! I believe that there will still be something more for Pat and Pran (and there will definitely be more of Ohm and Nanon!)

But again, views counts are not everything, it's the quality of each views and how this series ensnared many out there that matters. :D
No matter what, we are already so going so far with all these accomplishments :)
But yes, let's exceed Immortality (at least for once!)
