The worst of the bad

Perfectly depicted mental health issue: take away the FLs martyr victim status and she is angry. Every single person, that tried to help her gave up in the end. Yes, she wanted to go on being the victim and suffering till the end. They killed her baby, they injured her mother severely....but the FL was blossoming in all that suffering and enjoyed her victim role.....this drama should be a must watch for first year psychology students.....
Actually it made absolute sense, that she stayed with the ML in the end. Only he can make her suffer more and more.
If you want to watch for the romance - do not waste your time, there is none. Only suffering, humiliation, degrading and abuse right up until the very last episode.

FRUSTRATING and ANNOYING wimpy ML

The last sentence of the synopsis: Can Lala defend her career and her marriage from her new archenemy?
The answer is NO!
This drama is the frustrating journey of a woman loosing everything because she married a spineless wimpy mommys sweet little boy.
The ML is portrayed as one of the worst mommys boys that I have ever seen. No matter what his mommy tells him to do, no matter what she says, no matter how she degrades, insults and abuses the FL he does absolutely NOTHING!
He is supposed to be a grown up man, an HR manager(!) but he acts like a two year old 99% of the drama. He is literally speechless, whenever mommy gives him instructions and he follows them without even considering for a moment, who he hurts and if there are any consequences. Character development: absolutely none.
The FL divorces, but she is no better than him. Whenever her former MIL comes to her to insult, degrade and abuse her some more, she shuts up and lets that woman walk all over her. Character development: zero.
The third party, the mistress is the typical psycho SFL, nothing new, nothing to see, nothing to care about, not even a tiny little bit of character, just there to get pregnant and separate the leads - the writers of c dramas really do not need to put any work on the SFL, they can simply take the same script as in the millions of dramas before.
So, I was frustrated with the FL, annoyed with the ML and his mother and not entertained by the SFL.
Two stars for the actors, the rest was not even worth my time.

FRUSTRATING

To put it quiet frankly: this drama is an ongoing frustration from start to finish.
ML and FL had nearly zero happy moments together!
40 plus episodes and all there was was suffering one way or another: work, relationships, affairs, crazy ass mistresses, shouting, temper tantrums, killings, blackmail, attempted murder, more blackmail, tears, lots of crying and a happy ending in the very last few minutes of the very last episode!!!!
By the way, the SFL is one of the greatest psychos in c drama history! But of course, at the end, after she blackmailed the ML to marry her, living with him and making his life hell for 5 years, intentionally nearly killing the ML - OF COURSE, he apologized to her, he still wants to be friends, he forgives her for everything!
If you are prepared for that, go ahead. If you want your romance drama with, well, romance: stay away!

WHO wrote THIS?????

No, really, WHO wrote THIS bullsxxxxt????
This was not only bad, this was nearly as bad as the "what the duck" series - and man, that one was a catastrophe!
Let´s start with the positive things of GenY2: it provided an income for the people who worked on set.
Now, as we covered that, let´s come to the rest:
- unnatural long stares
- interrupted kisses. After leaning in to kiss for about 15 minutes and staring and staring and staring and leaning and leaning and leaning - somebody opens the door and puuuuuf thats it.
- episode after episode filled with NOTHING. Absolutely nothing!
- 15 minutes for the not kissing scene, 15 minutes pointless "conversations", rest of the episode: Wayu stares into nothingness like a zombie.
- Thanu has the same expression throughout the show. Stone wall. Stone wall while leaning in to kiss, stone wall while staring, stone wall while watching Wayu stare into nothingness.
- Mark and Kit (Kid?): yeah well, puh, I fast forwarded them, that plot was just toooooo stupid.
Please have mercy and DO NOT give us GenY3!!!!

Great acting!

Oh, this one was good!
Finally a kdrama, with mature leads, that do not break up because the road gets a bit rocky, that can actually talk and listen to each other and actors that have a hell of a lot on screen chemistry!
Was it a masterpiece? No. Are there better dramas out there? Yes.
But compared to some of those "this script worked for the last 500 dramas so let´s just do the same again" productions, that have popped up in the last years, this is a breath of fresh air!
The acting was top notch, the on screen chemistry bubbling and the script was decent and made sense. 9/10.

Great actors, off the charts chemistry!

Hands down one of the very best in the past few years!
Since the great era of kdramas from 2010 to nearly 2020 there have not been a lot of good dramas coming out - in my opinion of course. But this one was really, really good from start to finish! I think it aired at the same time as a business proposal, which I did not enjoy nearly as much as this one.
Plot was good, actors were great and really nailed their roles - no acting out of character once and not a lot of overacting (unfortunately it happens a lot with those romcoms, happened just once here). No boring moment, I did not skip at all. A "grown up" romance, without any unnecessary drama, break ups or stupid misunderstandings - how refreshing!

Refreshing! Amazing ending for a lakorn!

Is it a bit too long? Yes. Is it over the top sometimes? Well, it is a lakorn so yes, of course! If you are looking for an all logical and calm storyline, where everything makes sense stay away from lakorns and watch Kdramas.
I was literally blown away, that the bad guys really had a BAD ending here. This is sooo soooo refreshing!
Normally - in lakorns - the bad guys rape, steal, kill and so on and they are almost always getting a happy end with hugs and kisses, sunshine and roses....disgusting. Here? NOPE!
Story 7/10 but with that kind of ending it is a 10/10 for me.

No, just NO

OMG! So, where to start...?
So imagine, you have a finacee and that fiancee tells you, that he has to have s** with another woman for a whole year in order to get rid of his nightmares...what do you say? You say YES of course, because you are a stupid angel....you do NOT leave him, you do NOT scream and shout, you do NOT tell him to get therapy, NO, you say YES.
Ok, so at that point he already knows, that he can do whatever he wants - and I promise you, he will! The next step is, that he moves in with said mistress. You still say YES. Then, he invites you to a lovely trip to PARIS - but - he takes the mistress with him. You still say YES! On that trip, he spends his time with the mistress, not with you and, he shares a room with her, not with you! You still say...well of course, angel and whatnot! At that point you decide, to move in with him and the mistress - absolutely only logical decission you could make...eyeroll....BUT you are NOT the only one, that moves in with the fiancee, the mistress and you, there are TWO MORE women!!! So now you see your fiancee rotating 4 women....he sleeps with you and with the mistress and you see him getting cozy with the two other women at the same time on the sofa, where they give him a nice intimate massage.....YOU STILL SAY....well....YES, honey, thats ok, honey, if you need this to get rid of your nightmares, honey! The absolute highlight is, when the mistress ruins your wedding.....but still.....
So you have endured all this just to be pushed down the stairs and die.
Well, well, well, what a great drama!
I wasn´t even interested in the ML and FL because I was like "What the duck" the whole time because of the SFLs stupidity!!!
If you see this as comedy and can laugh - like me - because that whole thing is just laughable from start to finish, go on. If you are not, do not waste your time.

The acting was GREAT

Wohow, this was good!
Beware, if you are looking for a feel good, rainbow, unicorns and pink fluffy roses type of drama this one is not for you.
Here, everyone is flawed, just like in the real world ;)
Really liked it, did not use the FF too often and the acting of the ML was over the top good, true to character and believable. LMJ did a very good job, too! Some complained, that she seemed stiff - ähm, yes, of course, this drama is about revenge (!) about hate and fighting ones feelings. She did very good in displaying all those emotions and stayed true to character.
In dramas like this one, the important thing is, that the actors imperson their characters, and this they did great!
Again, if you want to watch for the romace you might feel, that it should have been a bit....more.....there is romance, and it is really nice, it just isn´t all fluffy and sparcling!
I watched for the actors and therefore got exactly what I came for: great acting!

Dumb martyr victim FL

God, I do NOT like dumb FLds and this one is really far from the brightest candle on the cake!
Not only does she have a - for me - unnatural relationship with her father but he can actually do whatever he wants to do to her and to the people she loves and she still worships the ground he walks on and licks his boots. She is supposed to be a grown up woman, that manages a hotel imperium but she can not put two and two together and act logically even ONCE. All she does is cry. She does not stand up for anybody against her father: the man she loves, nope. The friend, nope. The man she wants to marry, nope. Her mother, nope. Herself, nope. The father can even attempt to KILL and she still defends him and awaits a pat on the head, like the good daddys dog that she is.
They went waaaaay overboard with this storyline, making the FL the martyr victim cry monster in the corner. A bit more backbone, a bit more brain cells, a bit less crying and this would have been a great lakorn. The actors did a great job!
That said, the chemistry was FIRE!!!!

Better than the new version!

The only downside are the father and the BIL - the father was really creepy, an old man touching, flirting nad trying to get young women into his bed while being married....urghhh. AND doing all of that in front of his little grandson....disgusting. The BIL was the same just younger (actually the wife caught him in bed with another woman but still stayed married to him....big eyeroll...). All of this was supposed to be somehow funny - it made my skin crawl - especially the father.
The rest was great!
Refreshing strong FL, that was NOT the martyr victim type!!!
A solid 8/10 for me.

Same story as praomook

Big, big eyeroll.
One: Basically the same story as praomook. Guy is forced to marry a woman he does not love. Woman insists constantly to the point of manhandling him. Both FLds do not take NO for an answer and force themselves on the ML. Here the ML resists for 95% of the lakorn. In praomook he resists for 99% of the lakorn. How is it supposed to be a love story, if the man refuses the woman for the biggest part of the story and then, I should believe, that he finally fell in love and did not just accept her out of resignation, because he has no way out? Nope.
Second: the on screen chemistry is missing. Well, how should there be any chemistry, if the ML refuses her, runs away from her, hides from her and tells her NO until the last two episodes?
Third: This one, as well as praomook has this psycho FL. In any other lakorn, those FLds would be the SFLds that do anything to get the man and that everyone of us dislike.
Not my cup of tea.

Disgusting

Sorry, not sorry, this was really not good.
The parents SELL their daughter for breeding. Disgusting.
The ML was abusive towards the FL from the first episode.
WHy did they fall in love with each other - ??? Everything was just said, not shown eg. the sister said, they (ML and FL) love each other, like *huh* WHEN did that happen, did I skip episodes???
The *near* rape scenes were hard to watch - why *near* rape??? Well, if you are sold by your parents to get pregnant, what do you do, when the guy, you should get pregnant from wants to actually get you pregnant....yeah, exactly...she actually flees afterwards, cries her eyes out and refuses to go back - yeah, but we should believe, that she was not forced, that she was willing - I mean like WTH!?!
This is not romantic, this is not love, this is not normal, this is not, how it should be.
No, really, really NO!
This deserves NO star, but the acting of the side characters was good, so 2 stars.

Great watch! Retribution in a great way!

A really good watch!
After having watched countless lakorns and having completed three Thai watch challenges I learned to appreciate if the SFL (normally the psycho) gets retribution in the form of going to jail - I have only seen two. Normally they are just forgiven when they apologize and kneel down. Is it the same here? Yes and no. I will get back to that further down.
This lakorn is a perfect example of a mentally deranged person and her enablers. The SFL has serious mental health issues but insted of helping her, the people around her enable her and push her further into her derangement again and again. The so called uncle (SML, husband of FL) takes her to warm his bed, the FL just divorces and leaves, her mother protects her over and over again. This leads the SFL to attempt murder on various people without being stopped once. Even when she pushed the FL mother down the stairs the FL did not report her to the police. Typical lakorn so far.
What kept me going was the chemistry between the leads and their story, which was really sweet, funny and well done.
Now back to the retribution. Some commented, that they did not understand why the SFL got a happy end. Did she really? Yes, she did not end up in jail (they almost never do, even after a real murder) but what she got was not a "happy end" IMO. She lost the person, who would have always been there for her (FL), she lost her reputation, she lost her career, she caused the death of her mother, she lost her baby, she is chained to a wheelchair for the rest of her life. Yes, she got the SML, the one, who she had wanted from the very beginning, the one, who she tried to kill for....what a catch.....she got a man, who cheated on his wife and refused to get a divorce, a man, who refused to marry her. A man, who follows his ZIPPER and gives his "heart" to willing women. She knows, that he was willing to cheat on his wife with her. She knows, that he was willing to marry her, because he felt sorry for her. She knows, that he will let the next willing maid warm his bed. She knows, that she is paralyzed from the waist down and that she has a man by her side, who will cheat on her and who will get tired of her. And worst of all, she knows, that the FL will be very happy with a man, who truely loves her! And the SML.....he got that woman, who slept with every available rich man, who got pregnant from another man (no way was the baby his but the father was this young boy) and who can offer him nothing in the form of benefits for his career - and myyyyy, how badly he wanted those benefits! Ahhh so satisfying to watch the last episode! I really recommend this. If you get past the first few episodes and the cheating you can relax and let karma take over.

Weak ML, weak FL, a lot of psychos

I really, really, really do NOT like weak, wimpy, stupid men and this lakorn is full of them! Let´s start with FL father who is dumb enough to be set up by some woman and looses his family. Let´s go on to the reason for this "revenge" thing: Prasin. That guy was engaged, cheated on his pregnant fiancee and because his feelings were trashed by the mistress he jumped off a building and killed himself. Then the FL boyfriend who happened to find himself in bed with FL sister - eyeroll. And let´s not forget the ML, who had nothing better to do than to get into bed with FL sister, too. Well, at least that woman got into a lot of beds in this lakorn.....
Now to the reason, why the ML married the FL: revenge. Why? Because his psycho sister was the finacee of that spineless wimp Prasin and she ordered her brother to hurt the FL (FL and Prasin were friends and instead of researching, WHO was her fiancees mistress she just assumed, that it was the FL). So the ML married the FL (you know, little sister ordered him, so he had to obey), fell in love with her but continued to think, that she was a bad woman (his words, not mine). So instead of locking his sister up in a mental hospital and really getting her the desperately needed treatment for her severe mental derangement, he enabled her to do more and more evil and prolonged her suffering.
But the deranged sister of the ML and the ML are not the only ones, who repeatedly harm or try to harm the FL. There is also FL "sister", her fathers mistress, her ex boyfriend and so on. Typical lakorn. I wanted to drop this so badly, but I really wanted to see the FL grow a spine, slap the psycho, the sister, the mistress, her father, the ML, leave them all behind and start a new life somewhere far away from all those stupid people but well, I did not get what I wanted. Yes, the FL speaks up for herself....wow.....but remains an angel till the end, not loosing her temper even once - not even, when she catches her husband kissing her sister and later, when she catches them in bed....nope, THIS was NOT even worth mentioning, she just forgot....I assume her saintly brain could not hold a thought for more than 5 minutes. Argh. The acting was mediocre at best. The script was laughable. Waste of time.
