Power Rangers: In Korea

This was almost exactly like Start-Up for me but better in some ways. Let me explain. This drama started out strong with good dialogue and action-packed scenes much like how Start-Up started out with the greatest of all time pilot episode. Both were pretty good till the middle-end part of the series where the dialogue and plot fall to nothing. I also want to mention that I started both dramas very early on when it was airing (I think ep 4 for both), so I felt the drop in quality every week. I feel like the writers of The Uncanny Counter just focussed more on the action aspect rather than the dialogue part, which was sad as there was way more dialogue than action. The characters in the drama became static and the action scenes became more predictable than ever. Hopefully, the second season changes some of this because I don't think I can stomach another power rangers episode at this age.

What a draggy sh*tshow! But I still give and 8/10

Oh boy, where to even start! I'll just say that it has been a fat minute since I wrote a review for any drama but I just had to for this one. If I didn't, I fear that I would go crazy and self-implode.

When I first came across this drama, I wondered why a show with attractive leads from the mains to the supporting cast had a mediocre, but nonetheless respectable rating of 8/10 on MDL. Now I finally understand. At times, this drama is a solid 10. The acting was on point, emotions were running high, and the music was effective and did I mention that the acting was on point. BUT, sometimes it was a 5-6 if I am being generous in the way the plot unfolded and the "character development". I put quotes around that because it would be a joke to say that anyone in this drama developed from a static, linear character with the exception of the male lead. Just when I thought that a character would deviate from their disgusting self, they just revolve back and go in circles. UGGHH so frustrating to watch. With that said, lets get started on these Characters.

ML was quite a righteous dude. His sense of responsibility to his friend's family is amendable for how long it lasted. If you think about it, he was just as much a victim if not more since he also "lost" his parents and also a friend. I probably enjoyed his development the most as it was so damn satisfying to see him tell... the TRUTH. GOD, I never knew that lying in dramas could be so frustrating but this one proved me wrong. Overall tho, his only flaw was forgiving everyone around him for the BS that they put him through.

ML's Little Sis was probably the one part of this drama that I would have no complaint whatsoever about. It's very ironic that the only sensible figure in this series filled with capable adults is a child. Seriously, I would give her the name Fix-it Shiyu (Felix) given how much repairing and building of relationships she was responsible for over the course of the show. Honestly, I was so impressed by her actor and her character. Definitely the best of this show.

Now onto everyone else. I feel like I don't have to write individual sections here because everyone is kind of the same. From the theme of manipulation to lies, to unchanging attitudes and ugly personalities, each character is uglier than the other. First we got a female lead that actively chooses to lie, a SML who is a creep and directs his anger onto the ML, a SFL who I still don't see what purpose she served other to betray everyone around her (Judas), an Annoying best friend to the FL who TBH I just skipped over all her parts, and a bratty rich kid who acts cute to the point where I feel the need to projectile vomit on the screen. The plot just gave second chances left and right to these people yet they have fallen short everytime until the end, but we don't talk about that. Never mind I will cause it's 3am and I feel like crap. How does a drama with 31 episodes so feel so rushed yet long at the same time? Unbelievable.

In conclusion, I hope that I never subject myself to this form of visual and auditory torture ever again but I am also strangely happy that I've gotten through this. I do like the FL actor and I have watched one other drama by her that didn't trigger me at all in fact. Let's hope for a better tomorrow in watching these dramas.

Different from the Norm

Marriage Not Dating was a drama that wasn't the easiest to watch. Now I know that some of you might decide to drop it after reading that but I mean it in a way that doesn't negatively impact the effect this drama had on me. Watching this drama as the whole is only possible thanks to this. I will say that there are a lot of love triangles and misunderstandings in this drama so be prepared to endure some cringe-worthy jealousy moments. Some highlights for this drama may include the casting of it. I felt like at the end of the drama, we've begun to understand all the characters and see where they may have come from and why they might have acted the way they did. It is a really touching story. I have to give a special shoutout to the soundtrack of this drama especially "Stop the Love Now". This track made me smile and bop my head every time it popped up in the drama. Cheers to another great one.

I really enjoyed it!

Extraordinary You was such a great drama. Despite all the subpar reviews that said the story went off track during the middle and towards the end, I found the entire story of this drama to be very intriguing. I usually use the word "heartwarming" very lightly and put it on many dramas but I truly mean it when I use it to describe this one. The entire cast made me feel this and it was very exciting to see how the story progressed for each individual character. Also, I know that it says love triangle up there but don't worry, it wasn't that "love triangle". I dislike love triangles very, very much so if I can handle it, then anybody could. You can definitely count on our two leads Haru and Eun Dan Oh, who only play extras in the story, to bring a tear or two to one's eye. I didn't cry but my heart ached a lot and this series really gave me Darling in the Franxx vibes (shoutout if you've watched this anime). This was so worth it to watch. Cheers to another great one.

Ooh, right in the feels!

Angel's Last Mission: Love was really, really good. I think the most appealing feature to me was how everything was done in terms of plot, pacing, and character development. I seriously loved how each episode gave me a great feeling and how the clips always hooked me in to watch the next episodes. Cheers to another great one.

Story: The story of this drama was really well done. I really liked the pacing of the story, especially how it didn't take that long for the leads to start getting along with each other. I also just like the overall message that it gave me; love conquers all.

Acting/Cast: The two leads did a really good job of interacting with each other. I really enjoyed how the didn't get too caught up in misunderstandings and always trusted in the other person even where the circumstance and/or people tried to get in their way. The second leads for this drama were also well cast as they grew as people too and contributed to the overall experience of the drama in a meaningful way.

Music: I didn't really notice anything special about the OST of this drama other than the "1,2,3,4" counting before some song came on but then again, I didn't really watch it for the music.

Rewatch Value: I don't ever rewatch dramas as they are always very clear in my head. I will give it a 7 because I could see myself watching it again if I needed a break from trashy dramas that are very hard to sit through because of how the pacing is.

Mature Adult Problems in a Mature Adult World!

Search: WWW is a great drama with a lot of different themes. Personally, I feel that this drama is not really my style due to my age and my interests but there were a few things that I felt intrigued by. Firstly, if feminism and friendship are what you like to watch, then you definitely cannot miss out on this drama. The three female leads are just so, sooooo good and the interactions between them are partially what made this show so fun to watch. The next element to look out for is probably the interactions between the FLs and their male counterparts. We see three very distinct love stories unfold as the drama progresses. One toxic one that ended up being resolved, an unlikely one with an age gap and problems to be resolved in the future, and a funny, heartwarming one that involves helping the other grow. In the end, I would say that Search: WWW is worth it to watch and should be more widespread. Cheers to another great one.
