Best drama of 2026!
I went into this drama with zero knowledge of the story and completely fell in love. From start to finish, it was exciting, fast-paced, and the plot continually kept me on my toes. So many twists, so many characters to love. I never got bored once. The action scenes were especially impressive! The opening fire sword scene will be one I remember for a long time.Acting was also superb! Hou Minghao was stand out in his role as Xiao Wuyi, but every character had their moment to shine. No one felt sidelined. Ai Mi did very well for her first leading role, and while I still wish they had cast an older actress, I do appreciate that the romance was handled with great care given her age. (Also can confirm no kiss scenes.)
The OST was exceptional. I really love that the vocal songs were not overpowering the drama (as I’ve found with some recent dramas.) Every time a song played, especially the battle song, I felt emotionally immersed and that it suited the scene.
I will be rewatching this show over and over. By far my favourite drama of the year (and likely one of my favourites forever.)
