Rewatching episode 9 because it was so well done. The chasm between Qin and his parents is so large and so painful to see on Qin's face. It was already hinted that there was some sort of trauma in Qin's childhood, and now we know that his parents were not the direct cause, but absolutely complicit in it. They seem self absorbed in their relationship, with Qin and his well-being becoming a side note of their romance. His mother says, "We did him wrong" showing they *know* there was an issue, but they never tried to fix it. They leave and go on trips because San Francisco is dad's "cup of tea," leaving Qin behind. It happens often enough that Qin even says he's used to it. The look on his parents' faces shows they feel some sort of guilt that he says that, but still, *they do nothing to fix it*. His mother tells Duang the wrong they did is indelible (memories that cannot be forgotten or removed) for her and Qin's dad, but yet again *they did not try to fix it* because they thought he was too young to remember. Hogwash, lady. Utter and complete hogwash. If it was indelible for you, how can you possibly think it would not be the same for your child?! Then you have Qin's dad saying isn't so nice to have a nice family moment, and Qin replies about the guitar, with the absolute double entendre about their relationship, saying it's fine even though you haven't done anything with it, and hoo boy did I want to smack the dad because He. Gets. It. But. Does. Nothing. To. Fix. It. Qin's parents don't seem like bad people, per se, but they are absolute shite parents. Duang silently hugging Qin after the parents leave is exactly what I wanted to do as well. *le sigh* overly long rant over lol
Nine episodes into Duang With You and I need someone to explain how this show keeps getting away with murder while…
This this this this! I'm old enough that watching campus shows is something I tend to prefer to avoid. But this one? It's campus elevated. It's not just the same ole thing, and it's incredibly refreshing. Open communication? Understanding of the other's needs? Maturity in full force while still having the cutesy goober that is Duang? It hits different. It's almost like campus is more backdrop than setting. It's important, yes, but it doesn't feel like it's the most important part of their story like some other shows. If I had waited to watch this some time down the road, I would have been upset with myself.
Por has better bedroom eyes than basically anyone I've ever seen ever, regardless of gender. It's actually insane.
Also, I so need more background for Qin's character. Like, what was that flashback?! 😭 There's so much guilt and so many things left unsaid between him and his parents.
Just needed a re-watch. It's such a serious scene, really it is. But I swear I am utterly unable not to cackle laugh at Peem fully belly flopping into the water to try to save Grandma Si. It's a full body plank onto the top of the water. That sh!t must have hurt so badly 😅
What does Q mean and how many are there in a series?
A Q is a day of filming. My understanding is the average Q's per show are between 30 and 40, but it depends on how many episodes there are, how many filming locations, and if everything goes smoothly while filming.
Your analysis is as beautiful and poignant as always! I read the situation a little bit differently and I would…
It's so interesting to see both takes about this because, for me, they're both correct, but also can be seen from a completely different angle. I identify so much with Qin because I'm Demi/Ace, and it makes so much sense to me that he would be considered Demi, too. Maybe it's something he hasn't understood about himself, so he can't put it into words, because those words don't exist for him yet. He needs the emotional connection to be able to move forward in any sort of relationship, and just as he started to with Tiw, Tiw gave up waiting. Because again, not understanding means not having words. But Duang, as both of you have said, sees and understands for Qin, and allows Qin the time he needs to be able to move forward.
That being said, I also think there's more back story to be explained given that Qin heard what sounded like abusive yelling when he was on stage with Duang that could also be part of his reticence. I have not read the novel, so I don't know if that relates only to being on stage, or also bleeds into personal relationships. But there's obviously more to explore and understand. Thank you both for well-reasoned and thoughtful comments ☺️
Him and Dao are going to Cali to see if Thit's mom's spirit is in her old house. The men that brought the cat…
He's not, though...? His biological dad was with a woman, Dao's mom, before they both realized it wasn't love and he realized he preferred men. He then met the man you saw in the show. Dao's stepfather is British and doesn't speak Thai fluently, so that's why Dao has the English name Michael.
Okay so I’m weirdly obsessed with how opposite these two are and how well it works. Arthit and Daotok are such…
This is so accurate. The opposites attract aspect is definitely there, but it's balanced. The scales don't tip one way or the other because they level each other out. I loved reading their story, and the show is following the novel so well it makes me grin like a Cheshire Cat 😁
This show is a pile of fluff with a few harsh gut punches thrown in. I was not expecting to hear Je Meow's decision 😭 Poor Lynx! I'mma need them to make it the happiest of happy endings next week, please.
Also, they must be doing something with the lighting, because Khaotung's eyes look particularly sparkly in this series. Like, yes, he's already objectively pretty, but genuinely? His eyes look different as Lynx, and it's such an interesting and fantastic detail ❤️
Man, I love Duang and Qin, obviously, but I'm genuinely excited to see more of Jamie and Mars, too. They complement each other visually so dang well. There's something about how they both have a style that suits them individually, but together as well. I'm sat for their story, too.
Tbh, Namphueng have all the rights to be a villain.... What she's been through is honestly too much and heartbreaking.…
I absolutely agree. Watching her backstory, I was like, yeah, I would probably do the same lol. I kept waiting for someone to explain why they lied in the previous life, though - like, it's awful and horrible and I wish it hadn't happened that way, but I feel like Ramphueng would have done the same to save her own child if she knew the First Mistress would have murdered her child the way she did the children of other Mistresses. First Mistress was the real villain, and I don't feel like Ramphueng really went after her the way she should have.
I am not exaggerating when I say I've watched 7 COMPLETE BLs from 2025, have watched 4 complete series (KDrama,…
I've been a bit worried about that as well. I actually thought they should have done GerNao's story before ThitDao for that reason, as much as that would pain me to wait even longer for ThitDao.
actuallty the last one with doctor was believable, since he was also doctor and eorked in hodpital... The notebook…
It's a different hospital, though. Jade and Kamin asked Dr. Puth to have Puifai's body moved to the other hospital so they could have all the bodies examined together - *then* Dr. Puth resigned. So he wouldn't have known the schedule of doctors at a different hospital.
Yes, yes. He just *happened* to leave a picture of him and his girlfriend out in the open. He just *happened* to leave a notebook with ALL the information the police needed sitting on his desk. He just *happened* to know when Jay's doctor would be tied up and need a sub so he could deliver the letter. The coincidences are strong with this episode 😮💨
Honestly, for me, I don't think Puifai is dead. I think she's the one behind it to get back at everybody. Probably with help - maybe the good doctor? He hasn't released her body "because of the ongoing investigation," so he could totally be helping her. It's the only thing that makes sense to me right now with how much insider information is known by the killer. It's not a terrible show, but the plot holes are very holey, JadeKamin's relationship developed hella fast, they seem more wrapped up in each other than the case most of the time, and the extra side quest about drugs and The Wild Hunt seems oddly out of place. I'm hoping it all ties together in the end 🤞
Personally, I didn’t really like the Fah/Typhon storyline. I found it quite flat. I really don’t like Fah’s…
Phoon* It's understandable to see it that way. I wish there had been more nuance and evidence with his growth - it was much more evident in the novel. The mark of a great show is that the viewer shouldn't need to read the source material, but with FahPhoon's story, it really, really helps. I ate all of this up like crazy because they were my favorite of the 5 novels. Compared to the novel, the show is a bit flat, yes. Part of the problem is that a large portion of the novel is Phoon's inner thoughts. Bringing that to the screen is difficult. Phoon was constantly berated and told he was worthless, so it's not really a surprise it would take a lot to be able to move past those feelings. He gets braver when he meets Ter, North, Foam, and Dao. They're the ones who really bring him out of the self-wallow, but I don't think they showed that very clearly in the show. If you're able, I do recommend the book. You shouldn't have to read it to understand the show, but here we are...
