@Everything_on_a_BL_BagelI noticed this too. In therapy we call this action, Body Focused Repetitive Behaviour.…
Even though that is sad too, it’s a much happier take than substance abuse. Maybe one day he will meet a hot therapist and get him to go to some real therapy.

I have a question for everyone about the final confessionals, particularly Itsuki's. During the interview, he pulls up the sleeve of his shirt, and repeatedly pinches his skin around the vein located mid arm - the blood draw location. This acting/directing seems very deliberate. The person I watched with, thought he was just getting nervous about talking about himself, and it was a nervous tic. I had a different take, now that we know how dark Itsuki's life was, the neglect, abuse, and hooking up with little care, It felt like the director/actor was implying Itsuki might have had a drug problem with needles. Or maybe since his ending was not very optimistic, that may be where he is heading. My friend thought that Itsuki looked too polished to be a former or future drug addict, but anyone can fall and pull themselves out that hole, but can easily backslide. Yuma may not even know his history, Throughout the show Yuma literally knew very little about Yuma . What do you guys think? I think it can be interpreted either way deliberately by the director, but I am curious if any one caught this detail, and their interpretation. With Itsuki so unable to keep a job, I really do think he has a drug problem that the directly slyly snuck in so as to not have a censorship flag

I agree.I take issue with Itsuki's assertion that Yuma was attempting to make himself feel/seem "special"…
My watchmate and I had this discussion. Yuma says in his last confessional, that he thought he was special, but then learned through this that he was 'normal' no better than anyone else trying to fix a relationship with unhelpful last ditch schemes. Itsuki in his final interview, still thinks Yuma has not changed. He still said Yuma thinks he is special, but he is just a normal guy. Yuma grew from the experience, but Itsuki still sees the old Yuma. I watched confessionals twice cause "normal" always triggers me a bit, and I just feel like in the end, Yuma learned something about himself, while Itsuki self-esteem was as low as ever. And sometimes, that is how life works. Some learn, some go darker.

Anyone who is comparing the different countries versions, need to check out the various versions of SKAM. Seems like 6-8 different countries did this show (Specifically Season 3 featuring Isak's coming out story line) It was wonderful watching each country interpret the OG version for their own country. People regularly debate which country did it the best (Personally, I am quite fond of the French version) In some ways, it is sad that recording audio and video came along, everyone forever argues that the first version was the best. Theater kids and fans know that every acting troupe does the same show, with their own spin. Before recording, no one really could debate which play performance was the best. Theater people will routinely go see the same show, relishing how an acting company does their take, given their budget, stage size, community they are in. I wish we could treat our dramas like this. If you are a fan of SKAM, please comment your fav!

I'm just hoping the directors went to the school of SKAM, because I have never seen so many series adaptations that smoothly and lovingly had other countries do the original SKAM justice.

I've always wondered why they put Japanese word in the title? Isn't the original story from Taiwan it seems?
This was apparently co-produced by Japan and Taiwan. Recently, countries like Thailand, have been co producing shows with other countries. Some of reasons can actually be political.

I can handle one psychotic friend/ex, but two? Dino doesn’t seem too stable either. But the worst crime is Raks pastel pallet. It’s giving Addams Family Values. “I can forgive anything Debbie, but pastels!?” https://youtu.be/wRRhJ11dUlE

I had read that this show was not going to air in China so the shouldn't run into the censorship issues Addicted had. But at the same time aren't these C Idols? Which makes me think for their careers it will be very tamed down. Anyone else hear that this show is not airing in China?

It’s lovely to see Yutaka sleeping with his new little family, but I do hope that he and Minoru will have time…
Yutaka, at least, has his own place for acouple's get away. No need for a 'Love Motel" like so many Asian countries rely on due to low privacy and often living with family in close quarters.

I agree about the subs. The content was fine, but the timing IQIYI uses, the words only appear on screen while the actor talks. Viki is so much better at that. I think even Netflix could do a better job. I did re-watch a second time at .75 speed and it was much easier to keep up, and didn't seem slow mo.

Plenty of deaf people don't speak even if they can because they can no longer hear their own voice. They also…
My guess is Heart got meningitis, which affected his hearing. Vocal cords can be impaired by viral infection as well, often affecting one or both vocal cords, paralyzing them in either an open or closed position. Many can recover their voice over time, with voice therapy, but I suspect, given the hearing impairment, that is an uphill battle. Despite his families relative wealth, it might be a financial burden. Let's not forget selective mutism. An impatient teenager may not want to speak given how flat the affect is in their voice.

It would be nice if Li Ming is able to draw his voice out. That is a story arc I'd be down for.

So, Episode 6. PSA real talk, if anyone ever behaves like Nueng with you, please tell your friends about everything,…
My biggest issue has been that for all intents, they're playing the same characters as Fish Upon the Sky. Nueng is a snotty, crabby, low self-esteem baby, that barrels through other people's emotions, while Palm is the confident, all-knowing, supportive love interest. Sometimes when Phuwin launches into his dramatic moments, I have flashbacks to FUTS. I mean, I am happy enough with the show, but I can't help but feel JoJo picked these two actors based on a previous performance. Either that, or their acting range has not increased. As for Pond, that guy is so beautiful, it would be hard to not to watch him in anything. I can't help it, I watched all of FUTS just to see him.

forreal. What was the reason??? Lets beat u for three weeks.. make u get on ur knees, and then everything is fine…
What's worse is, having a disapproving father who rejects the relationship would have been the right amount of drama for this somewhat lighthearted series. It is litterally a scar on this wonderful series. Also, having a grudging father that later gives in after actually meeting Bai Lang would have been smoother. What we got was this abrupt change of heart with zero explanation. Can we get a Snyder Cut on the final episode LOL.
