Cdramas have bigger budgets, better production and overall better actors than Kdramas now. The only reason Cdramas are not even more popular is just because they're way too damn long.
And watching dramas from other countries Ive seen that Korean dramas are really really toxic. Its a very men dominant culture where they're obsessed with wealthy people.
Just compare the historical dramas. How many Kdramas actually let the FL fight and be a badass like you see in a lot of Cdramas (Who Rules the World, The Long Ballad etc). Even in the crossdressing dramas like The King's Affection the FL doesn't fight at all. Their female roles are very limited and once you get the taste of something better its hard to go back to that type of writing.
the misogyny of this press tour is really irking me especially considering how wonderful the drama was.
Korean culture sucks ass. All they care about is looks honestly. Most of these pretty boys would be stuck in supporting roles in Hollywood based off their acting skills.
Who? 😂Seriously, I've never heard of any of them 😆
Glen Powell is the new Tom Cruise, Paul Mescal is gonna star in Gladiator 2. You're gonna be hearing about this two for a long time. Dickinson and Stan are kinda boring tho
The problem with South Korean movies with Hallyu stars is that they're like Bollywood movies, where the stars persona is bigger than the movie's plot. The main thing they care about is making the star look good.
That's why all the great Korean movies have Song Kang Ho, Choi Min Shik and other veteran actors in the lead role. They're not afraid to play dark and gritty roles and don't care about their image. Song Joong Ki, Lee Min ho these guys need to embrace playing serial killers or psychopaths in movies. That way they can show their real acting chops. You can still play romantic lead in dramas and get the best of both worlds

So basically her career thrived but the show suffered for it lol
