I've watched several dramas and Tv shows in the last few weeks of the Quarantine. I've finished a few and dropped a lot within the first five episodes. I was getting very tired of certain drama clichés that no longer attracted me the way they used to. I happened to stumble upon this drama after looking through the recommendations of some other dramas I had watched, and needless to say, this drama truly hit the spot. Every character in this drama is so well written that they're relatable. As the drama progressed I was able to understand and the perspective of every character and why they acted the way they did in certain situations. I think what spoke to me was the story of the female lead. She grew up poor and wasn't a standout student, so she had to make a means for herself. I relate with her on a personal level because as an audience member you see how her environment impacted the growth of her self esteem and how her trauma affects her relationship with Yan Mo. Sorry, Bai Qian and Ye Hua, Sorry Feng Jiu and Dong Hua, you have been replaced by the likes of Zhao Qiao Yi and Yan mo, and Zhao Guanchao and Hao Wu Yi.

Story: The plot was immaculate. The writers did a great job of balancing the focus between the female lead and every other character. As an audience member, you see her relationships with Yan Mo (love interest), Guan Chao (Twin Brother), and Hao Wu Yi (best friend) + Fei Dachuan develop into healthy supportive ones. The story also offers insight into each character so we get a full understanding of action and consequence. My heart broke so many times for these characters because every single one of them is so lovable but broken. They way they all support each other is so beautiful, it makes me feel better knowing that the book which this drama is based on is an autobiography. Another thing I appreciated that it opened up with them being a couple so I didn't have to worry too much about getting myself into another tragedy. Acting: HOLY COW100/10. Every single actor did an impeccable job portraying their characters. The chemistry between the siblings was so heartfelt and endearing that I found myself tearing up whenever they would have a heart to hearts. This was my first Janice Wu drama but I've only heard good things about her so I'll have to check out more of her work. Eden Zhao is such the ideal brother, boyfriend, best friend, son image in this drama, I often found myself wanting a man like him to appear in my life. Zhang Yu Jian was so in control of his features as Yan Mo, I have to hand it to him. Every single expression had a purpose and he was always able to keep that stone-cold image. A lot of times it was his eyes that gave away his emotions and that makes him so much the better. Ma Li was a pleasant surprise because she was so cute and endearing I loved her character chubby puppy face.

Music: It fits well with the drama

I would rewatch… as I'm writing this, I'm rewatching it! Enjoy!!~
