Actually i understand the open ending for MLC since it also close to then ending from the novel. But for the untamed, the novel has a happy ending of them being together.. maybe drama make it like that for censorship, can't let 2 guys roaming together? Lol. Yeah BOY has 5 minutes extra but boy is happy ending anyway. They roam jianghu together.

From my understanding,

1. 10 years ago, after he was poison, the monk help him but can't fully cure him, so he can only live for 10 years unless he can find other ways. When he returned, he was shock to hear so many complain and blaiming him for the death of 58 members of sugu, they said he is too competitive and ego, dont listened to others etc, that the downfall of sugu was because of him. Then he also read the letter from his lover that break his heart more. So he got double blow from his friends and also from his lover. To find a cure, he should return to sugu and his friend to help him.. so he no longer has heart, probably very sad, depressed and self-blame. He just want to find his senior corp and live freely until he dies.

2. I think probably he doesn't want to become a burden.. like you said. Since, he can't cure himself also maybe related to the emperor. Dissappearing probably good for everyone safety.

3. LXY's brother gave the token to SGD when he was dying and makes SGD promise to take care of his brother LXY who is only around 4 years old. Too young to be left alone. SGD got injured after that and got high fever.. SGD then lost his memory because of the high fever. They were save by shifu and SGD thought the token was his.

Yeah.. so sad... i feel sad for him..

The one that couldn't have kid is the grandfather or the great grandfather of current emperior, starting from his father or grandfather, the current emperor is no longer a legitimate royal line. Because even emperor's mother was not sure of the existence of temple of bliss.. it was a legend for them.

The father of LXY is probably the same generation of current emperor or the same generation of current emperor's farther, which is the line of royal blood from the rebel crown prince and nanyin consort 100 years ago. We can also see that LXY is the same generation of FDB, not the emperor.

Btw, many ppl dont like fl and said she is dumb.. i think she is just clueless. ml was 16 and never go out from all boys palace, so it kinda culture shock and fl is also his first love. They started from friend to lover. I'm not defending fl or the story, i just like it a lot haha.. i also go and read the novel after I'm done w the drama.

I think i first feel ml love was when CY smile so sweet and innocently while introduce food taste to reflex emotions. I think ml feeling is so innocent and sincere during that scene, while fl just feel gratitude. CY is an amazing actor..

Also, i belive he is alive. He wore an expensive mink coat at the beach.. this means somebody gave it to him since after jumping the river, he doesn't have his things with him. Must be the shifu's wife? He may not fully cure since he is still afraid of cold, but he is alive.

I also think it is not imagination because when the camera falls back, not only is LLH gone, but also FDB and DFS are gone. They can't be the imagination together.

So whatever it is... he is alive somewhere in the world together with FDB, DFS, and fox spirit.

I'm crying again with the ending... although this is an open ending... it is so beautifully done..

This is my theory.. when LLH destroyed his meridian and kungfu, he is heavily injured. But in his body, there is shifu inner power that originally dont belong to him. So when his kungfu gone, he could not control this foreign inner power, so his body explode from within.

It's a retribution for his sin for harming his shifu.. huhu

It might be a platonic love between ML and FL. And the book has a HE. The story sound so complex and challenging, that's why it was so interesting. Im really curious to see it.

Yes, we all fall in love with him.. his performance is just superb. i actually feel the chemistry between him and FL in LAR.. but not so much in IS.. And in LAR, I love Sifeng so much! And the kiss scene on ep.52 (opss 😜) Also i like him in SBM, tho the FL is a bit annoying but i still can accept.. haha.. but diff ppl diff opinion.. ^^
