Got it that you feel strongly for happy char, I was sad too when I watched it.. maybe sleep for a day to get over it and cont the story.. It will be regretful to abandon the story for minor character.. this is fictional drama anyway.. even in real life ppl dying and we still need to get over it..

if you mean the drama duoluo continent, it is not related, if you mean the animation and original source - it is related.. the 1st drama adaptation change the plot of original work.. so the drama relation of this with the 1st one is just the characters not the story..
