Yan Xun was her first love, but Zhuge Yue was her true love. However, the novel NOT a romance. It is mainly a story of palace and empire struggles, with many battles. I do not care that FL was 17 when she played, only her lack of maturity that shows. Her acting is okay, far from memorable, far from enough to keep me hooked... Same with ML, both lack chemistry and emotion. They look like they are reading a script. I always avoid comparing different dramas or actors, since they often involve different scripts and contexts. The same actors can be extraordinary in one drama and terrible in another. In this drama, unfortunately, it is terrible.

In the novel there are negotiations to marry prince Li Ce who will become emperor after the death of his father (different kingdom). However, the marriage will not happen. I think it is because she was no longer a virgin. Her father (the other emperor) hid this fact. Chu Qiao exposed her and the marriage negotiation failed She has a minor role in the novel.
