Title Joy of Life Season 2 Spoiler
Yes I totally agree with you. There will always be a comparison especially if you have read the novel before watching…
Lol I always spoil myself with the epilogue but I enjoyed so much JoL that I read the 746 chapters. I agree with you and I wonder if and how they will include the Emperor of the North and Si Lili's story. I think they will remove this arc. Right now, I feel they rushed the relationship with the second prince and distorted the relationship with the crown prince. The third prince is way older (in the novel he is 9). The first prince looks similar. Episode 8 is all about Fan Xian taking over Cheng's position. I hope.

This drama is definitely my favorite. In fact, I started reading the novel during Season 1. So far, I have not been disappointed. I just don't understand his fake death, and his cunning genius personality doesn't translate well. He only trusts very few people, and the character in Season 2 doesn't reflect that, especially with the emperor, the princes, and even Cheng Pingping. I understand some arc needed to be removed (censorship) and condensed but I am questioning the choices prod and screenwriter took.
Did you read the novel?

i'm all giggles for the eldest princess and the first prince. someone please please spoil me if they might get…
You really want to be spoiled? 😆 I think not
By the way, the eldest princess is his aunt, the sister of the emperor. She is around 35 (looking like 16 in the novel). The first prince is in his early twenties.

Title Joy of Life Season 2 Spoiler
The downfall of reading the novel is that it leads to making comparisons. So, of course, because in the novel Fan Xian didn’t fake his death, the story felt a bit upside down for me. Finally, in episode 7, the crown prince revealed himself as a villain. In the novel, Fan Xian never trusted or sided with the crown prince or the second prince. Fan Xian never asked for any favors. The great princess had way more spotlight in the novel. In the novel, the temple was not revealed at that time. Fan Xian came back from the north as a hero, and nobody mourned him. They reduced the brothel story a lot, but they did a good job. There was no painting in the novel, and "this" came very late in the novel and his mother never knew, only few others. The meal with the emperor and his sons never happened. Fan Xian was never beaten by the emperor; on the contrary, the emperor showed major favoritism to Fan Xian at his return. The major change is Cheng Pingping. In the novel, he always supported Fan Xian and never betrayed him. They were true soulmates, like master and disciple, two genius masterminds. Cheng considered Xian as his son. Fan Xian never doubted Cheng Ping. In fact, in the novel, when fan Xian came back, Cheng pingping gave him full authority and he took over his position, still in the shadows but not upfront. In the drama, he is such a great character that I understand why they twisted his character. The character playing his father is similar to the novel.

All in all, it was good but not great. I enjoyed the humor and the performances of the actors and actresses, but I missed seeing some martial arts fights. Like the fight with the first prince warriors and fan Xian tigers warriors. They missed imo an opportunity here. I know this is only the beginning of the second season. I am not sure if I like the speed. I understand they could not produce the 746 chapters but I feel it was short at times. I find it challenging to portray his genius on screen. Fan Xian is extremely cunning, always devising plans and thinking far ahead. At times, I can see it but like the meal with the emperor and princes didn't translate well.

This is my opinion. You are entitled to think differently. I will not answer aggressive comments. We can enjoy a drama, be a fan but still have cons and pros.

I will refrain from revealing too much, even with the use of the spoiler button. I will limit my comparisons to the novel and the episodes that have aired.

in short. he became too famous to act as a supporting character.
There are rumors and gossips circulating around, but nobody knows the exact reason behind it. It could be due to other commitments or personal reasons. Earlier this year, he mentioned that he wanted to take a step back from entertainment, so it's possible that this decision was made last year or could be related to his fashion commitments. We should not speculate that he is too famous as it's just hearsay from people.
Nasty rumors like this could destroy a career; I find them mean and unfounded.

My guess is that the second season of SSS will come first because JOL, with its 746 chapters, will definitely…
Dang 😵‍💫🤪😳😆

ohhhhh.. what happen with Sword Snow Stride then? I've been waiting for the 2nd season too T.T
My guess is that the second season of SSS will come first because JOL, with its 746 chapters, will definitely be more challenging and the script is far from finished as per the scriptwriter. I'm not sure how many SSS chapters there are, and it also depends on the main character's commitments. Many unknown at the moment.

I'm thrilled that they announced at a press conference it's a trilogy, but I'm curious how they'll fit 746 chapters into three seasons.

I found it quite interesting that when the second prince commented on his weight loss (it's been a while. You lost weight ) because it was actually noticeable onscreen (episode 27 300 poems vs teaser 3). It was amusing how this was integrated into the storyline and I believe the screenwriter is a true genius.

I finally understand when S2 ends compared to the novel after watching teaser 3. When the scriptwriter says he has 50% of the novel to cover, he is not lying!

The following are some details about a drama show:

- The director committed suicide a year after the show aired. He was sued by the crew for non-payment and keeping the Original Soundtrack benefits.
- ML, LEE MIN HO was the third option. (YAY!)
-The drama turned out to be a financial disaster
-the author and director who had worked together previously kept arguing on set. She disagreed with his every decision.
- The screenwriter (original author) SONG JI NA praised the male lead and claimed that the drama survived only because of his talent.
- The female lead, KIM HEE SUN who had been absent from acting for five years after having a baby, made a comeback with this drama.
- The author wrote two volumes of the novel after the drama. However, she never finished volumes 3 and 4. She claimed three years after the director's death that she had been a bad person during the production. She tried to start writing the third volume but had to stop because a specific fight on set reminded her vividly of the director's fight, and she couldn't move on. She blogged about it in 2016. Since then, volume 3 and 4 are still unpublished in Chinese.
- The author disagreed with how the villain was portrayed in the drama.
- During press conferences, the author was sour and claimed that many scenes she wrote were never played, twisting the drama.
- The author seemed extremely bitter until three years after the director's death when she mourned and decided to give a public apology.
- The two novels end at the death of the young king, who was poisoned by the villain and killed by the male lead in the drama. The love story is just starting.
- The translation is not official and has some errors in grammar and pronouns. It is still readable, but one shouldn't expect fluent English.

Novel 2 https://www.webnovel.com/book/faith-the-great-doctor-(book-2)_28688546900564705

I read the 2 novels which were poorly translated and realized that it was similar to the drama. Although there were some differences in the perspectives and internal thoughts, there wasn't anything new to learn. It seemed like the author had just turned the TV drama into a novel without any significant changes.

On a personal note, despite its flaws such as the female lead's acting, poor editing, low budget, not enough actors and warriors, special effects, directing, and cheesy dialogues, I still love this show.

OST is a gem. However very rare. I found it on eBay very expensive!
DVD available on eBay as well English subtitles. No blu-ray

bromance?
It depends what bromance you are talking about. If words of honor or the untamed, the answer is no. If you means brotherhood, the answer is yes and no.
