Jeez the tension in the emperor Hall’s can cut air. Consort li truly loved the emperor, even though she is very flawed. That look exchange during the palace attack between the two of them was beautifully done.

He totally under estimated and he’s trying to make up for that lost, which feels so disrespectful to the story and the cast!!

Right? I felt like an iconic drama like this deserved a well thought out ending.

When the leads were like it’s going to be a really happy ending in the interviews, did not expect this. Never trust actors words again!!!! 😂

Agreed! I wish production would prioritize making the drama and story fulfilling, especially since the book was so clearly a HE!

I think they saw how successful the drama is so they’re like oh shit, let’s film extra scenes so we won’t get grilled AND make more money.

I had to peek at the end of episode 40 and ugh, I wish they reunited face to face…..it felt open ended. I hope they release the new scenes together soon!

Still, this drama is a 10000000/10 for me! 💕🎉

I love the contrast in this drama. Everyone came from a background where they were deeply hurt.

Some lived with the model of “hurt people, hurt other people”….like the stepmom, wanning, consort Li.

Others like XFF and XH rise above it and want to create new happiness.

Ten thumbs up for the writing and directing. 💯
