Nine Yin True Sutra was supposed to air last, but they changed it to first. Perhaps due to the fact that Mei Chaofeng was the most popular character during the airing of TLOH, with all her clips were the most watched and liked. Even the staff promoted Mei Chaofeng a lot.

I feel like it is anticlimactic. I expected a martial arts showdown between the 5 great masters. Especially bcos it is a well known story that Wang Chongyang is the greatest of the five. But not even halfway, she already gave the trophy.

Ming Sect is being introduced here. With those people as the members no wonder they are called evil sect.

I was expecting to see how Qigong practices martial arts and becomes the Beggar Sect leader. But he is too occupied with the ladies.
Meanwhile Duan Zhixing roams around with no goal and ends up in Beggar Sect competition. Why would a prince wants to be a beggar leader to help people instead of being a good emperor? Ridiculous.

This installment focuses more on the love triangle instead of the jianghu the 2 characters have been dreamed off. They suddenly gain extra power and instantly become strong. It becomes a romance action drama. There is no proper closing for the spy and how Qigong handles the accusations later.

I was expecting for the prequel stories more than the main bcos it is the first time someone actually made stories about previous gen. The main story butchered a lot of background stories, but it is fast paced.

I don't read the novel, but I know each prequel story has original characters and plots. The biggest letdown is SENB bcos it focuses more on the love triangle. It lacks the journey and development of rookies in pugilist world.

DOMH feels a little anticlimactic bcos I expected a full scale of battle between the 5 great masters.

In NYTS, they changed Huang Yaoshi's character into a gentle, sweet and sickly man and made Mei Chaofeng as a revenge driven tragic girl instead of an ambitious person. FYI, these 2 characters are villains.

Overall I'm impressed with this remake. They spent the effort to make one whole complete package. If you want a taste of classic wuxia with no overused special effects, this is a must try. The actors are old, but so what? It actually feels unique that the staff chose veterans for the classic title.

I like this one. Zhao Muyan looks convincing as a man, although her nails are still sparkling glamorously 😅

It has actual story and the SFL is adorable and kind. The only downside is the last 15 minutes. It felt so rushed to reach climax and ended it in a half baked cake.

Well overall this one is good and this is their second drama, so the chemistry is good. A few sexy seductive moments as well!

Man, 4 episodes and Qigong still not learning any martial arts. They spent 3 episodes for the Wuman women. It's funny, yes, but I want to see Qigong practicing his skills.
