The difference between Wuyin and Zaiye is Wuyin is blindly in love, like a real sick puppy. Empress Lv seems to not love him at all. She only cares about power.

First, Taohua is 18, Wuxia (4th prince) is 16. In the novel, Wuyin (3rd prince) is 20.

Beiyuan (Zhao) is in decline, politically in chaos, corruption everywhere. The emperor is sick and the prince is sidelined by the new empress as she became the regent. Qi (Wei) is the strongest in military and a prosperous country. The drama doesn't show Wu.

Third, due to its declining state, Beiyuan deems for money. One easy way is to steal money from Qi. Money can do anything: bribe officials, train soldiers, fund wars, etc.

Wuyin is most likely having a one sided crush on Empress Lv and wants to help her rule over Qi. So he is eager for the throne. We don't know how they met.

What you said is interesting. Empress Lv could be the disciple. Or perhaps the disciple saw the peach blossom poison when she went to Beiyuan.

If someone is really amnesia, he will not remember anything including his name, but Taohua doesn't. She fell from a cliff and it caused a trauma or shock to her brain that it made her mind in a mess. She remembers everything except her time with Zaiye. She will regain her memories on ep 22.

Sadly the drama is different from the novel. The main reason she doesn't want to involve Zaiye is:
1. In her heart, he isn't her family.
2. They have different plans, so she seeks help from Wuxia instead.

But in both universe, there will be wars between 2 countries initiated by Zaiye to help Taohua conquer Beiyuan.

She is unfit to be the mother of the country, unfit to set examples to other women, can't even manage household and harem.

It's just a shock. She recovers her memories about ML on ep 22, but she doesn't tell him.

They only see it from his pov. They think this is another misunderstanding or miscommunication. They are NOT a normal married couple. They don't communicate like a normal couple. This marriage is false from the beginning, but they make this marriage as a pact.

So true! When reading the novel, I thought Taohua is similar to Hua Liuli (Royal Rumours) that's why i could totally imagine Meng Ziyi doing it. Such a huge disappointment. Taohua is flirtatious and pretentious to coax Zaiye, like a kitten.

Taohua and Zaiye don't trust e/o, but the have faith in the other's ability. Which makes them a power couple and seems to have one mind.

I feel like the screenwriter wanted to focus on Zaiye and makes him a better person. He even created some cliche troupe: falls off a cliff and amnesia 🤦‍♀️

The reason why the drama can't reach higher is bcos the drama deviates too much from the novel. Not bcos the acting nor chemistry. Sad...

Some people complain about why Taohua doesn't just tell the truth. Even in the novel Taohua never say anything to him, not about her past or the poison. She has been fighting alone, only to survive and protect her brother. Empress Lu is ruthless. Her and her brother's lives are in her hands. If she carelessly tells her secrets and there is movement from Zaiye, who knows what will Lu do to her brother? Or perhaps to Taohua? The recipe for the antidote is on Lu's hands, but it is not to detoxify her poison.

Zaiye can investigate her past and makes plans to help her. But will his plans and her plans carry the same vision? They are, after all, from different countries. Will Zaiye be willing to help the enemy's country? What if Zaiye actually uses her after knowing her secrets? Or after knowing the political situation in Beiyuan?

Qingtai always hates Zaiye, in every universe. He tried to kill her master countless times. If not bcos her master is smart, she would've died. Qingtai also knows the suffering Taohua has been through, now in Qi she is still suffering. That's why she is so protective.

International audience and chinese audience may have different taste.

Meng Ziyi isn't popular globally. She is way below ZY, WCR, TXW, ZRN, YSX, etc. They think she is just a pretty face who can't act. They just have issues with her.

Meanwhile in China, like Irene said, Meng Ziyi has been in top 5 of 95 flowers since around 2022. Her popularity rose significantly thanks to Wonderland. Passerby like her, netizen like her. Tbh she almost has no haters, just some old cpf.

She is loved bcos of her personality and acting skills. I often read compliments about her acting on weibo. Her name always becomes a trending topic or hot search, both on weibo and wechat.

Before Blossom aired, her followers were 11M, but now she has 15M. Bcos of her good image, she managed to land dozens of brand deals. Just after Blossom until now, she signed with 15 brands!
