Bad In The Very Best Way

It's terrible and I love it.

-The story is nothing special
-The plot has more holes than swiss cheese
-The acting is so melodramatic it's comical
-It had some of the most confusing characters and what they did/were/meant to the story
-Great music, terrible sound effects
-Terrible fight scenes
-Some of the worst faked injuries/blood/suddenly missing injuries I've ever seen.

And it is ADDICTINGLY entertaining. I loved every minute of it. It followed some of the most predictable plot twists ever and I had so much fun predicting what was coming next. I still don't know who or why or what about a lot of it because it was all so random, and I can't wait to binge this series all over again soon.

Absolutely watch this series. If you don't try to take it seriously, you will have an INCREDIBLY fun time, I guarantee it.

A GREAT Depiction of an ADULT Relationship

I start this by saying I abandoned TharnType series 1 because it was too toxic and messed up. I could NOT handle that kind of stuff. I only watched TTS2 because I like them as actors. Perhaps I don't know how toxic it got before I quit with S1 but oh well. Just the first EP made me go "Nope".

This was SO MUCH BETTER!

Showing the struggles of two adults in a relationship when real life causes struggles was SO NICE! Grown adults have problems. Established couples have problems. You can love someone with your whole heart and you still argue and have miscommunication and have issues where you don't resolve it until you take a step away and cool off. This showed that! Hell even that little shit who tried to ruin everything, when he learned Leo loves him cause they were too scared to admit it to one another, IT MADE SENSE! Losing the one person who loves you to try to change the relationship? THAT is a TERRIBLE choice to have to make because you take a MAJOR risk! Even when Tharn and Type had their big fight, they didn't BREAK UP! Adults DO THAT! They accept they fought and they go apart for a bit to work it out internally before confronting the other person externally. Even the doctor and the cafe owner, they TALKED! This was an adult series and the way people are like "Oh this was so boring" suggests people are either immature or kids, and I DON'T fault those people for this type of reaction, but I've lived 30 years on this earth. TRUST ME, this is a VERY realistic example of a dramatic-tinged version of adult life. YES most adults aren't this dramatic, but that would be a boring TV series.

This is what ADULTS do to handle crises. It's not perfect. It's messy. The kidnapping bit was A BIT extreme. But overall, giving people chances and WORKING IT OUT rather than just immediately dumping the person you loved for SEVEN YEARS is an adult decision. Waiting is an adult decision. Us queers sick of all wishy-washy teen dramas who yearn for ADULT series can say THIS is an ADULT series that handles things in an ADULT way.

I couldn't get past episode 1 of series 1 cause it was toxic but I TRULY liked this Series 2.

The good: There's GL themes as well as BL themes and I really like most of the actors in this, and so will you, since you've definitely seen them other places if you've watched any other Thai series. The performances are really good for the most part, and I really enjoy how they play these characters.

The bad: The main character is a jerk to everybody, really, and I found myself only really having positive feelings about the creepiest couple of them all, the coach and his lover. Everybody else, I kind of got the feeling they shouldn't be together anyways. So to have the one couple that probably shouldn't be together be the only one I really rooted for was very disheartening. The ending is not satisfactory, either. You don't see them get together, really, they just aren't together and then suddenly they're together.

The WORST: The GL takes a really, really stupid turn and I hated it so much I would have rage-quit the series if it didn't wait until the very end to do it.

Like A 90s Song: Fades Out Instead of Ends

Like the header says, this series started out pretty good, it had its ups and downs throughout the story, but like a 90s song, it had no real ending.

The Good:
-The cast is mostly pretty great. Man and Ben have great chemistry and all the actors really fit their characters well.
-Jeng is absolutely loveable AND hot.
-It's a story about adults, not students, which is always a plus for me!

The Meh:
-Pat is supposed to be 24 in the beginning, and yeah he does sort of act like an immature 24-year-old, but it gets taxing to watch him whining after a while.
-The entire story with Ae and her family is just really pointless to the plot and only wastes screen time.
-Very unbelievable workplace dynamics (open harassment and not a SINGLE person is worried about getting sent to HR??? Really???) pulls you out of the story.

The Bad:
-Jaab and Jen's story is so far to the 'side' that we're clearly missing half of it. It makes no sense why they are the way they are, and it's very annoying.
-So much screen time is spent on the work projects and situations and we have those pop-up definitions of what the jargon being used is, but it never ACTUALLY ever has any involvement in the plot? Why?
-The biggest problem is it DOESN'T END! What happened with Jaab and Jen? What happened with Jeng's father? Why did his mother meet Pat for 30 seconds and nothing ever comes of it again? WHY IS THERE ABSOLUTELY NO CONCLUSION TO ANYTHING THAT HAPPENED IN THE SERIES???

It's worth watching for a reprieve from student BLs as an adult drama (well... mostly *looks at Pat*) and because Man is really loveable as Jeng, but it's not going to be anybody's favorite series.

As a big fan of Thai series, I really enjoyed this one because it was short, sweet, and pretty drama-free. I do love me a good, long, dramatic and angsty series, but sometimes you just want to sit there and watch something adorable unfold. That's where the appeal or this one really lies.

The performances by everybody were pretty good. I've seen bad acting and I've seen amazing acting, and this is pretty good. A lot of people compare it to the novel and are disappointed, but honestly, I liked this better. The characters in the book are a bit more abrasive and in this, they're more appealing to me as far as their personalities.

All in all, this is one of my favorite BL series, not because it's got the amazing writing and performances of others, but because it's just very enjoyable and sweet without any over-complicated drama.
