The drama stayed close to the novel, so that is good. The acting and production are watchable. I don't think we can expect too much from a low-budget bl Cdrama. I think some people will feel frustrated with the main couple and their toxic relationship, but the novel is probably worse. Xiao Bao is a spoiled, rich, sheltered young master who doesn't understand the world. Huai En is a weapon used by his cruel father. He has never felt loved and cared for, so he does not understand or accept certain emotions. He is cold and heartless. Both are dumb in love and have no boundaries. The novel does have a happy ending so I hope it goes the same for the live drama.

Omg, Cui Yulang getting punched in the face by Pei WenXuan on the roof is the funniest. One sneaking out of the Princess mansion while one is sneaking in lol. Both are “going home” 🤣

The emperor asked his people to investigate, but it did not show what the emperor found out. It was implied he knew his consort was behind the scheme before he came to her residence. The slap was much deserved lol. I agree that the 2nd ML’s so-called love for the princess is ridiculous. Super cringe.

When will Su Rong Qing get castrated again? I’m so done with him already lol. He sees his chance of being with the princess slipping, so he will scheme harder now. Meanwhile, our couple is only getting sweeter.

Thank goodness Ms. Qin ZhenZhen cleared things up in episode 7. I'm so glad Li Rong and Pei Wen Xuan's past life misunderstanding gets cleared up fairly quickly and doesn't get dragged out. I'm loving this show so far.

Guo Jing is so naive and sweet. He is the nicest guy, but I guess he will eventually learn how treacherous the world is and how he has to toughen up to survive. I'm waiting to watch his character development.

It's funny how bystanders get goosebumps from the couple’s flirtation in episode 19. Love it lol.

It's time for Ci Sha to shine. He’s already good with horse riding, bow & arrow, and fighting since he trained for 6 months before filming the Creation of the Gods trilogy. I believe he won't disappoint us with the role of Guo Jing. It’s also nice that they kept the classic wuxia style for this drama. I'm looking forward to this airing soon.

The dog 🐕 actress, Dahuang, is in this drama! This is her 3rd time (that I know of) with Joseph Zeng—Mysterious Lotus Casebook, Romance on the Farm, and now this drama. Joseph must be so thrilled. 😊

You know it's a bromance when the two male leads watch the meteor shower together and adopt the same cat by chance. Watching the night sky together is such a typical bromance thing to do in Cdrama-land. 🤭
