I love Gong Jun but he suits roles like Wen Kexing (WoH) Rise with the Wind and Fox Spirit wayyyyyyyy more than…
Noooooo. I think the opposite. He is better in roles where his expressions are subtle such as SMY or Wen Kexing. Unless he's in an environment where he gets to be authentically himself - such as variety shows - then his natural bubbly, side of him is real and is unrestrained. He's bubbly there because he is being himself. But if he's ACTING and he's "forced" to play a happy go-lucky role I don't think he's strong in that department. In Rising Against the Wind he was similar as SMY, introverted, calm, smart and reserved as a valuable investor. That's why he did well there. Muted roles where he is not expressive suit him more whereas other actors don't do well, I think he shines. To put him a role like SCH it's too forced for him. Unless he can be authentically himself -like a 10 year old - similarly to how he is on variety shows - don't think those roles will suit him.
Wish I could see the episode. Will be back once I have watched.
Yay! 😀 No I just want to know if we think GJ's acting is up to par here. Get a feeling. N just throwing it out to hear what everyone thinks before I put my unsolicited 2 cents in. 🤣😅🤣
The ml is so boring !!! And ppl saying Gong Jun cant act, its not his acting that makes this character boring.…
Call it luck or call it skill. Can't deny that a boring character is harder to play, I think. Think GJ is getting better and better w each episode and especially after Ep 1.
I hope this is one of GJ's best drama next to WOH. (Plots are my liking. ) Just finished Ep 1, his typical staring…
He gets better after Ep 1. I think Ep 1 was all about setting the scene and establishing him as a calm, reserved, conflicted self and because there were so many fighting scenes in the first episode we don't see much of him. But from Ep 2 onward especially the fighting scene with the white, creepy coffin guy, his "cocky" "you're not worth my time" expressions come out.

Thanks for sharing. I haven't had a chance to watch episode 6 and 7 yet. Your post makes it exciting. I am so…
^_^ I'm glad. I don't say it to keep people hopeful but it really does get better. The story picks up, fast w/o you second-guessing the plot. I recommend watching the episode and then watching it a second time to actually follow the dialogue and rewatch the fight scenes. I missed a lot the first run and then appreciate the fight scenes more the second time around.
Simply my opinion.
