Kind of, but it is absolutely necessary. I need plot-building 12 episodes in. I love the first 10-11 action-packed episodes. I get the first arc overtaking the Patriarch and forming a new BR foundation by getting the Head out so a lot of fighting because they can't do it without bloodshed. Totally get it. But now it's scheming, plotting, and imperial strategy arc. I'm all in. I need to know what the heck is going to happen the next 28 episodes. And only through actual meaningful dialogue is where the plot moves to give the audience an understanding. Without the dialogue in 11 AND 12 honestly I'd be lost.
Note: haven't seen the other installments don't know who's who and what happens to anyone or anything.
Not sure how to interpret Gong Jun's acting here. Understandably Su Muyu is a serious character who is upright,…
He does open up after Ep 10 after his and SCH's dialogue. The story/arc shifts to the next. There's a noticeable shift. In Ep 12 he literally says I must change my attitude/outlook and the person he's saying this to is surprised that he's not what other people have said about him. But you won't see that shift until Ep 10 and later.
Me: *watches Ep 12* I get it now! I get the backstory now!! Also Me: But to make sure let me rewind to read the dialogue a couple of more times to be sure. Me: YEP I GET IT.

Ep 12 lays the groundwork for the next arc (I think) which is what the show has been trying to get the audience to w/o jeopardizing quality and to play homage to anime/the first arc "Protect the Patriarch at All Cost". LET'S GOOOO!
If ya wanted plot, well ya got plot thickening peeps in episode 12. We have passed the anime from episode 12! See, I am so frickin' glad the pacing is as-is because 12 episodes in I'm ready to have no clue what's going to happen and to now sit back and be led by the storyline. LET'S GO!!! The pacing is on point.
Note: haven't seen the other installments and dodging spoilers like a boss.
You crack me up. I do admire your dedication. But serious question - if it was simply SCH only as ML w/o a SL…
Honestly...let's flip it. If SMY is w/o SCH character (leave who's playing out of it) they'll be no plot either. It would be very bad, GJ can't stand alone. SCH plays a role here in this plot. But w/o the other SMY or SCH can't stand alone. They need each other to drive the plot forward and they'll come to a head soon.
They switched the role. Second Male Lead is one making decision. Male Lead is collecting pay cheques as usual…
You crack me up. I do admire your dedication. But serious question - if it was simply SCH only as ML w/o a SL opposite from him, do you think the plot would get far? What struggle(s) would there be? SCH is making all the decisions because that is literally his character, driven by ambition and recklessness. W/o SMY he would have been dead by now all these years. Literally. SMY literally saved SCH when he was little. W/o the other one, SCH or SMY there wouldnt be a plot. Being opposites in desires and values is what drive these two to their breaking point. W/O SMY SCH couldn't stand alone in plot or character development.
Iβm on episode 6, and our so-called young medical genius, Bai He Huai, hasnβt even managed to cure a simple…
Hahaha she cured the Patriarch. Also she couldn't cure Dragon because it pierced his heart. Who else she could have cured but couldn't? I like her. If they continue the focus on SMY and SCH as they've been up to Ep 10, she doesn't bother me.
Note: haven't seen the other installments don't know who's who and what happens to anyone or anything.
But only time can tell...
Also Me: But to make sure let me rewind to read the dialogue a couple of more times to be sure.
