But in terms of marriage in ancient times, one married according to class. So if the guy's childhood sweetheart was of lower class, I guess the best he could do is to marry her as a concubine. Tough luck for the official wife then. Quite sad times actually for all involved. We have to bear in mind this sort of stuff when watching costume dramas and not judge them so harshly. This helps in understanding why the official wife hates the concubine etc.
If I am born during ancient times, I would just want to be merchant class and get to do my own stuff. Marrying into high ranking families or nobility is something for the nobles and ambitious merchants to go fight for. Imagine being forced to marry someone you don't know and don't like because of family alliances, it is a form of lifelong torture. 😅

Hmm...overall not bad, I like that they made an expected good guy, the bad guy, ie the LanLing master. And the bow was Baixi, that was unexpected. But ending was kinda meh for me. Felt like a forced HE.
