SRQ's motivation was the princess. He seems to like the princess sincerely. I got pissed off by the princess and Pei Wen Xuan and stopped midway. From how the story unfolded, I felt that they were playing SRQ, especially the princess. If princess realised her true love is not SRQ, she should have told SRQ to be gone and release him from his dreams of being with her. SRQ had set in motion some things which cannot be undone in his quest to change things to be with her. I may have a different POV if I watched the whole drama, but that is the gist I got from half the drama. 🤪

I was so impressed with his acting. I realised he was only around 27 when he portrayed the master and the puppet role. Solid portrayal. Had ChunTian emptying the tissue box.

Usually to most folks, the 2MLs are "evil". They don't bother to understand where their angst comes from. What they do may not be right, but one has to understand the source of their angst. They are not simple one-dimensional villains. If people are expecting simple black and white villains, some dramas are not for them. LOL
