I think the surprise was real because Jing probably thought XL will not be showing up and was probably panicking by then. XL came at the very last moment. XY and FL were 1 last bow away from being declared man and wife. Really cutting it close. I loved that scene. XL was such a rockstar.
Jing has since owned up to XY that he hired XL to crash her wedding. It is up to XY how she wants to process this information. Forgive Jing or ask him to bug off.
