Indeed! I feel for Jing. He has family commitments which are not easy to get out from. Back in those days, marriages are about alliances and not about love. But he is trying his best to put things in order so that he can be with Xiao Yao. Poor baby.
I was horrified by what his big brother did to him and then really disappointed with his grandma's actions too. To Jing, these are the last 2 of his immediate family and he holds them dear and tries to keep what is left of the family together. What they did to him is a terrible betrayal.

Sometimes it seems that XL has anger management issues. In that scene where she said she wished it was her who saved him instead of his adoptive father, XL got so angry, I was almost worried he might hit or hurt XY. 😅 Thank goodness Jing turned up to save her.
Also XY always says she wants a partner who will always put her first. There is only 1 person who can do that -> TSJ. None of the other suitors could do that.
But I feel bad for TSJ too. He had family commitments which were very hard to get out from. I was so mad with his grandma for doing that to TSJ to force him into marriage. His big brother is another piece of work. 😡

And XL is also not able to put XY as first priority. His first priority is to lead the Chen Rong remnant army to war, one which he knows he will probably never return from. So he figures that TSJ is the man for XY as only TSJ is able to prioritize XY. XY is the number 1 priority in TSJ's life. This is something even CX and FL cannot do. *Sighs*
I guess to XL, he dies a beautiful death in battle. Ahhh...XL would have made a fine Spartan. LOL

I thought less love stories, more detective, but I might be wrong? I prefer detective stories and less love stories.
I don't mind a combi of romance and detective work. But at the end of the day the acting and story line needs to be solid. We shall see! I have faith in Xixi.
