I somehow don't really fancy a Xuan pairing. Maybe he shows his ruthlessness by breaking XiaoYao's legs. He takes things by force.
My top 2 pairing is Jing or Xiang. But based on reality, Xiang is just not possible. When someone is born into a prestigious family, sometimes there is no freedom in marrying whom one loves as there are old rules and probably family connections to adhere to. Xiang is the enemy of XiaoYao's grandfather. Makes it a tragedy like Romeo and Juliet. Plus Xiang does not communicate well to XiaoYao and that makes matters worse.
Jing is a sweetheart. He loved XiaoYao even when before XiaoYao transformed into a beautiful maiden. He loves XiaoYao for her. He tries hard to be consistently by her side. Which is why my vote goes to Jing.
Feng Long is kinda vanilla to me. No hate to him, but he seems so dull when put next to these 3 excellent suitors. LOL
Yes, I will be reading the novel for a better understanding of the story and characters. I want to know if Jing's brother got a painful death with that evil fiancée of his. Horrible people.

Yes. And I like it that pairing too. Some of the other folks prefer another pairing. But I think DW's character is the best fit for YZ's character if you look at their life journey, traumas and personality.

Yes true. If folks are curious and want to deduce, his religion would be what is pointed out by joasiss, a mixture of traditional beliefs. After many centuries of embracing Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism, it would be logical these traditional Chinese beliefs are all fused together with traditional folklore etc. There is more than 2000 years of history for China. And Xixi's act of doing good, helping people feels very Buddhist to me. Maybe he is more Buddhist inclined?

Very sensitive topic for the Chinese, so much history and humiliation behind it. As outsiders, sometimes we don't understand the other aspects of it. Will be good if they can resolve it as a "Chinese family", but guess it is not for us outsiders to say too much.

I think her low profile partially has to do with her brush with the C-authorities over some comments she made? I am glad that they still allow her to act in C-dramas and not cancel her.
Looks like having dance and martial arts background is very useful if one is doing Wuxia / Xianxia dramas. Not a must have, but for those with natural talent like Xixi, it makes it a complete package. Elegant and graceful with all the moves.
