Oh, this is so sad. My heart goes out to them both. I truly hope they each find the happiness they're looking for, and that the road ahead brings them healing, growth, and the love they deserve.

The series is not about the romance between two guys, through there several hints which make one believe is not the case. The two male lead as your rightly mentioned have amazing chemistry and I think that is what the series intended to convey but probably due to restrictions in SK they planned not to.
