I've just finished episode 31 and I'm so confused. Sometimes it seems that they just invent new rules and they can do whatever they want with the enchantments, spells and powers. Tomorrow is the finale on Viki. I will read the discussion in the forum afterwards because I'm sure I won't understand the ending haha.

In my oprinion, it's the atmosphere and the genre. In the OG it was realistic, the family was the center of everything. The story was simple and people were very simple as well. A lot of characters and details (of course with 40 episodes). This one is more melodramatic and focused more on the romance. The characters are more exagerated and theatrical which is fine but in comparaison it's not the same feeling.
WHAT A DRAMA! Wow. I've just finished it. I'm so amazed. This drama is soooo heartwarming, heartwrenching and beautiful. Also very relatable and quite realistic. This is a story about family, friendship, hardship, resilience and love. So many characters but everyone of them is important and has their own story and growth. I cried every episode. I felt like a member of their family. My 2 favorite characters are Papa Li and Ziqiu because they were s1o pure. But I loved them all. Watch it now if you like slice of life stories with a big heart and if you like to relate and feel and laugh and cry while watching a drama. 10/10 because I can't rate higher haha.
Definitely did not expect that something that is being tagged as comedy and romance would have this sort of atmosphere.…
The atmosphere is definitely different. I feel claustrophobic every time they are in his flat. Nevertheless I like this drama but I couldn't binge it. It oppresses me at times. but I suppose it's the goal.

In Go Ahead it was not cringe and it was not confusing how he would want to take care of her because he wanted so much to gave the same name that his family. Nothing weird at all. Ziqiu was the most touching and relatable character.

He didn’t have romantic feelings or attraction to her. But when his friend suggested that he was in love with her he embraced the idea because he heard from the old ladies and others that it would be a good idea to marry her to be a family. And he craves being part of the family offcially. Also, in my opinion, it was quite obvious that he saw her like a sister only but put this idea in his head. And in GA it lasted 1 or 2 episodes max. I'm currently watching it (almost finished).
