He says all the time "I'm supposed to be mourning the relationship and keep low profile". It's obvious that he's saying that he would be faking it. I really think that he didn't live his girlfriend anymore. But he cares enough about her to want to appear sad not to hurt her.

It would be placebo only if he had the symptom after knowing about the spell. But he discovered it after all his symptoms. I think he really is struggling right now.

I've got a theory about the potion
What if the potion makes you reveal your true feelings for the right person? I mean, it seems that the boss is in love with the lady boss. Maybe after he drank it, his feelings for her bloomed? And ML's true feelings and true soulmate were revealed by the potion. This way it would be less problematic and more romantic. I don't know, in my head it seemed logical but now I'm confused by my theory lol
