Totally agree with you I still didn’t watch the movie yetBut direct ECT has been abolished by the recent changes…
ECT is shown in a bad way in movies…
But it’s actually a very good treatment of choice for severe depression and ppl having suicidal thoughts….

I wrote that comment before watching the movie.

Direct ECT - they don’t use any anaesthesia or muscle relaxants
It’s no more legal…
Modified ECT - use anaesthesia and muscle relaxants….It should be practiced if required…

In the movie they applied modified ECT….but still showed in a traumatic way
