As I said is a matter of first time watcher, I had my reasons to opt out of the other one and choose watching this instead, not because the other one wasn't going to give me the same or maybe more than this one, but because I am fan of Yeo Jeon Been so decided to wait for the release of this one. I loved it because as a first watcher of the story I felt it completed my expectations, I will rewatch yes, but it also makes me want to watch the TW version now, I might not like it as I like this one but it picks my interesting more now than before. It is a matter of preferences not a matter which one is better or not, I have found people already in YT and X (twitter) comparing some scenes and eventho they were fans of the originals found some scenes in kremake more compelling so again it peeks my curiosity now insted of competing we should be thankful there are 2 versions of something we like told in different scenarios, languages and portrayals.

I have to say I love this drama as it progresses, the dynamics, the costume, the cinematography, the acting, the frustration of Gue and Zhi lol everything Esther and LingHe couple WOW the big sister dynamic with Jin Fan is hilarious.....

He was the most loved by his dad because he loved the mom but she never love him back, but he was weak and sensitive he tried to toughen him up, since his brother and dad died at the same time, the next in line would have been Shanqgue but since he wasn't in the Gong territory by default he became the Sword Wielder (he was never supposed but because of the rules) that's Gue and Zhi are always p... off because they don't find him suitable.

ps: older brother probably had a mom, and we can assume that she died it was never revealed that's how he had to choose another wife, that's GZY mom.....

lol Ive been in this comment section since this was created, and trust me the amount of criticism towards this version has been non stop, I barely have commented because Im so behind on my other dramas right now...but I kept receiving the notifications lol so no Im not overprotective as Im usually am, because I already gave up on this comment sections since people don't understand the message. Im done there is more people liking it now than last night calling it trash...so there are more people being protective of this work, this should be a section for this drama not a commercial to watch "masterpiece" of original drama and downgrading this version is not competition, Im actually going to watch the TW version later on because I enjoyed this kversion so much.

Agreed, also i watch all kind of Asian dramas and as you say, new adaptations for wider audiences opens the door for the OG wbtoon, novel, drama, etc. for people to also be interested in original.

Exactly, that's my point why compared, let's not be joy kills, respect us fans of the first time experiencing the story, like I said I was and Im still willing to give the TW drama a shot because as you this was my first experience and I would love to watch another take on this with similarities but I dont compare remakes of tales I love I just enjoy the new version and give it a try If I dont like it ok good riddance but the approach should have been different maybe the TW "masterpiece" would have more viewerships bec of this one not because it is better but because kdramas are in their peak and have more audience internationally and it is Netflix.

I love them all but they are in their mid 20's and they needed a 30+ to balance the 36 Jun Hee.....

Most of you by your comments sarcastic/nonsarcastic.....its been a fan war from OG to this version watchers.... I think they should let new watchers of this version rejoice and go and comment in the OG TW version instead....you all a killjoy for real!

umm to each its own PBY baby face she looks her age, and jeon yeo been as well, its not about the appearance is how she acts. Totally believable when she acted like Min Joo introver/social awkwardness of a 17 y/o and bubbly 30+ Jun Hee....

I agree, I actually couldn't get hooked by the OG TW version so I only watched 4 or 5 episodes and dropped it, then they announced this and I binge watched the whole thing in a sit.

Oh you are the one that said masterpiece to this version, someone above is commenting about calling this a "masterpiece" is a no no, and is sending everyone to watch the actual "masterpiece" but I see you watched both versions so that comment is voided by your statement and complimenting of this version. 🙏👏❤️ And I think you are right, I opted out of the other one for this to have that feeling of watching something for the first time. And it paid off because I really thoroughly enjoyed it.

Ive been in this comment section all week, and since yesterday no one has said this is a masterpiece. People that are liking this drama are just liking and liking it without even wanting to watch the OG version, each person has its own preferences and choices in what kind of dramas to watch.

I watched the first 5 episodes of the OG TW drama and never hooked me sorry oops my bad I never like that "masterpiece" it felt so gloomy and dark back then, but this one I binge watched it overnight why because it is my preference , do I think this is a masterpiece? No, but I loved and enjoy it the watch. OG Tw fans, for respect are ok to be given their opinions but what irks me is that for 2 days consecutive they be coming here to tell us fans of this version is bad and to watch their masterpiece .... let us enjoy this, I was actually willing to go back and finish watching the OG when I was done watching this but Im so put off now bec of the comments and behavior of some fans, that I probably will just do a rewatch of this one.

ps: to be fair i watch all kind of asian dramas chinese, japanese, thai, taiwanese, even turkish started with kdramas but Im open to everything I LIKE!!!!!

Same Same I couldn't get into the TW OG that is so praised, but I binge watched this since yesterday. It was on my watchlist since they announced it because I love both Main Leads + Kang Hoon lol, thankfully I come here after i have started a drama I don't go by comments of other people's if I do I would have missed so many enjoyable dramas specific to my taste in dramas , and even if a drama is super hyped I tried and if by episode one Im not hooked I just drop it there is so much asian entertainment out there and why fighting over what one or the other likes we all have different taste and favorite actors......I can't complain I enjoy it thoroughly I could have more of a lenghty ending but i had enough of them together.

As I have always said, people has their faves in dramas, actors some people over hyped or under hyped dramas/actors to each its own.... not at cinema/drama expert but Ive been watching lots of stuff since early 80's Im over 40 years old and love entertainment and for the past 13 years Asian entertainment. I am not stating facts Im only stating my own likes.
