The filming length depends on historical or modern, not on genres. Historical costume dramas take more time to film compared to modern ones. The crew has to set up historical sets, and the costumes and makeup are super detailed. The leading actress usually has to wake up really early, and just the styling alone can take at least two or three hours. For action scenes, it often takes at least a whole day to shoot, and big war scenes can even take half a month to a month.
Modern dramas are mostly shot in cities, and the styling is much quicker.
First time reading a chinese web novel because of how excited I am for this. I didn't expect them to be so so…
Many Chinese web novels are really long haha, this novel is actually not a long one, less than 1 million words. The long novels are millions of words 😂.
is there any update on the date yet or are suppose to wait until 2026?? because for real the wait is taking longer…
It just wraped in April this year. Costume dramas need at least 6-8 months of post-production. The latest rumor is set to air in December or January. It's faster than I expected haha.
This is such a detailed article with great visuals! @potato I've been waiting for this one for ages 😂 I remember you said you would write it half a year ago—honestly I thought you'd changed your mind haha. Thank you Potato and Dusty for your hard work! ❤️❤️
This kind of mother will never admit her mistakes, because she hasn’t been living her life for herself — not…
Yeah, they had a serious fight — his mum slapped him, and he actually pulled out a fruit knife. Luckily, the FL showed up just in time and took him back to her place. Her parents were super kind to him and had been looking after him during that rough patch.
In the trailer, that scene where he talked to his mum was basically him using the last bit of patience he had left. After saying what he needed to say, he finally let it all go. He started getting ready to go overseas and later went to stay with his cousin in Hong Kong. Later on, it’s said that his parents ended up getting divorced.
Somwone who watched ep 12 please tell me if the male lead finally puts his mom in her place??
This kind of mother will never admit her mistakes, because she hasn’t been living her life for herself — not even for Jiang Mengchu. She lives for an obsession: to prove that she is the mother of a math genius. She refuses to admit that her first child never truly loved mathematics, and that the pressure from the parents led to his suicide. She cannot acknowledge her fault, because doing so would shatter the very foundation that supports her existence.
That’s why she needs the second child to prove she was right — that her values were right all along.
Now, after the ML has successfully taken his revenge, he finally tells her what he’s truly thought all these years. He knows there’s deep resentment between them, but he never expected an apology. He won’t compromise either. From now on, they will simply live their own lives, separately, without interfering with each other. It's the only solution for their relationship.
