Why is she wearing that blazing red all the time - even when she is running? So people can spot her easily?
The costumes reflect the style of the Warring States period (BCE 475 - BCE 221) of ancient China, specifically in the State of Chu . The people of Chu admire the color red and worship the power of fire.

basic q, there’s no real distinction between using Grand Princess, or the Royal Princess title other than translation…
"Grand Princess" is the title traditionally used for the emperor's sister (or sometimes aunt) in Chinese imperial history. It is a rank above an ordinary princess and often carries greater status and political influence.

"Royal Princess" is a more general term that simply means a princess belonging to a royal family. It does not specifically refer to the rank of a Chinese Grand Princess.

funny you say that because she did film this immediately after she was done with vos šŸ˜†
Ahh, no wonder she brought that dangerously alluring energy to the role. I love her in this vibe🄰

Based on the first four episodes, the adaptation has been pretty good so far. 😊The pacing is fast, and there are plenty of twists and turns. The FL is even more flirtatious and charming than she was in the novel, haha. It's almost as if Wu Wangyan has possessed her. 🤣🤣🤣

There are still a few posts support him in Rednote, much better than Weibo šŸ˜‚. A lot of Weibo marketing accounts are being paid to deliberately post negative content about Zhang Linghe.

ā¤ļøFor those who are curious about why Zhang Linghe has been facing unfair editing and targeted hate during the broadcast of Pursuit of Jade, here’s an explanation:

In many cases, investors initially use an actor’s popularity—like Zhang Linghe’s—to attract attention, and then gradually shift the focus by giving more screen time to supporting roles, often to promote actors from their own companies.

Also, just to clarify, Zhang Linghe doesn’t come from a powerful background or have strong industry connections. The only support system he has is his agency—but even that wasn’t always supportive. His agency just treats him like a cash cow.

Zhang Linghe is actually something of an outlier in the entertainment industry. He didn’t study acting—his major was Electronic Engineering—and he doesn’t come from an entertainment industry-connected family. That means he has no backing or network to support him.

Many other actors, on the other hand, have extensive connections: classmates from acting schools, teachers, industry friends. Some come from wealthy families, while others have family connections that help them enter the industry and receive support from established seniors.

In that sense, Zhang Linghe is not from the same ā€œworldā€ as them. He’s more like a scholar who stepped into the entertainment industry, not only intelligent, but also good-looking, with a great physique and solid acting skills. He’s on a whole different level, outshining many other male actors.

Because of that, he has faced a lot of exclusion and suppression. With the broadcast of POJ, fan communities of many young male actors have been aggressively attacking him. The angles of criticism are so forced that they almost seem absurd—some even blame him for being too handsome, arguing that a general shouldn’t be attractive but should look rougher instead. They’re even organizing to target his next drama Overdo.

In the past 20 years, I’ve never seen this level of cyberbully in the Chinese entertainment industry.

Right now, his fame is putting him under immense pressure—it’s like a child walking through a crowded market holding gold, surrounded by people who want to take it from him.

šŸ’”To be honest, one of the most heartbreaking things is that he truly cares about his fans.

When fans said they hoped to see him on screen every year, and even wished he would keep acting until he’s 80, he agreed to it. Since then, he’s been working tirelessly—because he doesn’t want to let their expectations down, and wants to give back the same amount of love he receives.

Even after filming until late at night, sometimes past midnight, he still goes on Weibo to share updates about his day, reply to fans’ comments, and interact with them like friends.

This level of sincerity is something I’ve never seen in other male actors. (I don’t mean any disrespect to other male actors—it’s just that I personally think Zhang Linghe stands out more.)
