The drama weakened the FL in TTEOTM. The novel is female-centric, but drama focuses on ML. It often happens if the actor gets 1st billing.

Only SOKP is made by iQiYi. MJTY and OFL are by other production companies. But SOKP investment is only Rating A, less than MJTY (Rating A+). Sometimes, they decide to film a variety show because of the friendship of the cast, which is perfect for a hilarious variety show. and their available time.

There's no season 2. The modern scene is only added for passing censorship. The same ending as the novel, only differs in small details in the ending, but doesn't matter.

Yeah, many watchers forgot to rate it... and the extra episode on MDL only gets 8.5: https://mydramalist.com/760091-story-of-kunning-palace-extra hope more can vote. I have never seen any other cdrama crew film the epilogues of life after marriage, despite their budget is limited (Rating A budget), still did better than some S dramas.
