There is romance in an acts of service kind of way. But the leads have already kissed. It's not so much slow burn as much as they are not allowed to be together. The story is still developing so I can't give you more solid answers. But you'll see several sweet moments of them.

Knight keeps saying I'm a bad guy, I'm not a nice guy like he is guilty of something like doing something more than kiss someone. Honestly if I was in Mild's place, alarm bells would be ringing. I don't know why we have such dialogues.
