That's the point I'm making, ordinary sword and powers suppressed. How the sword caused that much damage can only be explained with the word 'fantasy'.

He was going to go separate paths and was going to end things completely after the 'almost kiss'. He was on his way back but returned when he encountered PJY and found him fishy. He came back to the Duke's residence to prevent PJY from harming her. And only in the face of death, again caused by PJY, did MZY confess to her.
